I don't know about y'all...but my head is rotating 360 degrees while trying to educate myself on protein supplements. I'm convinced drinking these is going to be KEY!! I haven't yet approached the nutritionist at my surgeons office because I wanted to be able to speak "intelligently" about the matter before broaching the subject with her. Anyone got some good info out here? Thanks!! Tracee

There is a product review section in this site which I found helpful. One product I noticed there was Unjury which is made especially for bariatrics patients. It has 0 fat and 0 carb and 20 gm protein per scoop. I find most mixes tolerable, but this one is actually good! And, as a bonus, it actually mixes with a spoon. Makes terrific chocolate milk. They also have vanilla and unflavored. It costs about $18 for a 17 serving can and you have to order from www.unjury.com . Carb solutions is also good, cheap, and available at Wal-mart. It does not mix as easlily, but is not unpleasant in tast or texture. It thickens more like a shake, where the unjury does not change the texture of what you mix it with as much. The main thing is to get as much protein with as low a carb content as possible. I agree with you that this is a key part of my recovery plan, even if it is not pushed heavily by my doctor. I have been having a protein enhanced drink each day for pre-op, trying to load up on protein (and try some different products). Joy (3/1)

My doctor insists on the protein supplements. There is one they have found to be good, but I haven't tried it yet. I am going to ask when I go in on Wednesday about starting as a pre-op thing. I have been using the carb solutions Chocolate Almond Fudge bars. They are not bad!!! hugs, Mo

you can get free samples (totally free, no charge) of WHEY FRUITY fruit punch and WHEY FRUITY lemonade here http://www.molecularnutrition.net/index2.htm They are pretty good as long as you add extra water. I like them cause they are "juicy" and not "milky" Kelley
