after only 4 weeks of sending my information over to medi-cal I got approved and got my surgery date today. I will have my surgery done on March 31! I can't belive how fast it was, thank God for the people over at Lite Dimensions in Fountain Valley, Ca - they kick major ass. I've heard that so many people go for years without being approved, and I feel so lucky to have it done so fast. I can't wait to have surgery done, and begin my new life as a healthy person!

Congratulations, Daisy! If your doctor offers a support group, it would be a good idea to attend. I've met so many people at varying stages of WLS, from just heard about it, to just had it two weeks ago, four months ago, two years ago, etc., and they've all had something interesting to share. Best of luck!

Hiya, Daisy!! Wow...four weeks is LIGHTENING SPEED for getting approved. You sure were blessed! I didn't have any problems, either, but it still took four months. The hitch came AFTER I was approved, when the surgeon/hospital informed me (day before my PATs) that they weren't "in network" for my insurance , and I had to find a new surgeon/hospital. Would've been nice of 'em to tell me that four months earlier, ya know? Whatever - I found a new guy within 3 days, was in to see him within a week, and surgery was re-scheduled with my new way-better and WONDERFUL surgeon (who ain't bad on the eyes, either...a bonus! ) albeit 1.5 months later. But you're right...I feel so bad for those who it takes so looooooooooong to get approved, and I admire their tenacity. Then there're those like our Hunny Girl Kelley who got their approval months ago, but didn't get a surgery date 'til many months later. THAT would make me nuts, too. Hey -- maybe that why Kelley is...ah, nevermind! Anyhoo, welcome to the "Marchers"! You're DOUBLE lucky...if you surgery had been put off just one day more, you wouldn't BE a "Marcher", you'd be an April-er? April-ite? April-ista? Um...hmm......you wouldn't be a "Marcher". Hey, Welcome to the "Marchers" !!!!!!! Congrats on getting your date and approval so quickly! Like Kim said, I've waited a long time...My approval only took about a week and a half, but that was in November. I got my date on November 4th and have been waiting since. So glad its FINALLY almost here. I was and still have been going CRAZY waiting for it. Then again, I had my first consult on April 25, 2003, So I think I have the right to be crazy, you know? Along with going crazy I have been so excited I keep getting those weird Happy butterfly feelings in my tummy... So anyway, I wish you the best. I hope that you have an uneventful surgery and a safe and speedy recovery. Keep coming here, it really helps time pass! Kelley MARCH RULES 34 days to go! YEAH BABY!
