I just wanted to say that I will miss this board for the next week . It seems like everyone here has bonded alittle and I get such a kick out of looking at all of the posts every night! If anyone wants to come visit I will be freezing my bootie off in Canada. Cross your fingers for me this is only the 2nd time I have flown anywhere (if you dont count the return trip the first time) and the first time I have ever been out of the country. Anyway good thoughts to everyone and lets hope I'm back by next Sunday!!!!

Your Canadian trip is THIS week? Boy, did that come fast! Melenia, I go to Canada (Windsor, Ontario) at least once a month: I live in the northern suburbs of Detroit, so going to Canada is like going to the next town down the highway or something. I've been going there to shop since I was a teen. Now that my Mom is older and not well, she lives with my sister, so to get her out of the house, I take her for at least one weekend a month, and we go to Windsor. Mom LOVES going shopping there, or as she says "We're going to rob the Queen..." (You'd have to know my Mom...she has NO sense of humor, so that's a hysterical statement coming from her. Just LOVE that woman! ) Last year the exchange rate averaged about $1.65 to our $1.00, so we got great prices on everything. We referred to "Dollar Stores" as "Sixty-six Cent Stores" 'cuz that was about the exchange rate at the time. As of last weekend, the exchange was $1.28 to our $1.00 - not that great, but still a little bit of savings. Anyway, going to Canada isn't like going to a foreign country to me. It IS a bit like going back in time to the 1960s or something, as they seem to be stuck in a time warp: women still wear cotton button-down shirts with "peter pan collars", they still carry old-fashioned "pocketbooks", etc - AND they're way more polite than we are in the States. Other than that, Canada is just more like "North U.S.A." than anything. (Unless you're headed further North, like, say, Quebec...then you ARE in a foreign country...) But I LOVE going to Windsor...it's the place I go when I need to "chill"...and when I need to buy stuff! I've done ALL my Christmas shopping there for years. They also have different brands and styles than we do here in the States...I like THAT, too (I've always been 'different' than the crowd...). Hope ya get to do some shopping. If there's a Zellers near you, go: it's like a Target here in the States. Have fun, stay warm, and just think: when you get home, you'll be ONE WEEK CLOSER to being re-plumbed! WOO-HOO!! Hey, hey, hey! I already INVITED you to c'mon over to MY house for a week or so! I sure could use your expertise at cleaning to get this dump in order before I get re-plumbed! The dust bunnies have gotten so big they're scaring my dogs! My Martha Stewart days are LONG gone! (But then, so are HERS probably...) Kimmer Countess of Clutter
