Lost another 2 pounds!!!
Hi Judy,
Its so inspirational to hear that a fellow Marcher has lost weight.....congratulations and keep up the great job!! I'd like to know how the back on track program works, are there certain food you eat or don't eat, etc.? Its been very scarey the last few months, I've gained 12-15 lbs back, and its devasting, and I'm really upset with myself. I still go to Curves 4-5 times a week, but I think I need something more strenous.... I'm also thinking of joining Weigh****chers to jump start a diet.....my g'friend just joined online, however, after reading how the WW community feels about WLS on their message boards... I'm fearful of not getting a fair deal. The negativity is unbelievable, but I believe its more of the uneducated person not fully understanding the procedure.
I'm like to say hello to all my fellow marchers, hope your having a nice summer. I occassional jump online, but now that my two little boys are off the summer, they keep my hands full.
Any words of encouragement or how you're all dealing with the weight gain, would be much appreciated. I'm really getting scared with my night time eating habits.....any ideas of how to combat this, other than going to bed at 8pm? Or anyone try a liquid protein diet of shakes for a few weeks...How did it work for you? I know I sound desparate, but I feel out of control lately.

288/190/150 (40 lbs feels like a goal that isn't attainable anymore
Wendy, the "Back On Track" program is something that my doctor's office did. They've only had two of these classes. They only have 6 people at a time and it's for people that are out 2 years or more and have gained or never have reached their goal. It was for six weeks. We are doing the same thing we did when we first had surgery.
We ate 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. We could have no more than 10 carbs at each meal and at each snack. Doing this, you go into ketosis.
No: Bread, Sugar or sugar substitues, no pasta, no starchy vegs. and no fruit.
We ate protein first then vegs. Such as:
Breadfast- Egg, bacon and string cheese and slice of tomato
Lunch- Chicken and Green beans.
Snack- String cheese and celery
Supper- Chicken or fish or turkey and salad
Snack- Meat skins and carrot sticks
I did this for 6 weeks and lost 13 pounds. In the last month I have added back more carbs and the weight loss has slowed down. I've only lost 3 pounds this month. I would do better if I would stay with the 50 carbs a day, but it's so hard !! But I'm happy with the sixteen pounds I've lost . I want to lose 27 more pounds to be at my goal.
Hope this helps, Judy
Judy,
Thank you for the sample diet.......I try and stick to a carb-free diet as best as I can.....now you've given me the motivation to keep it under 50 carbs a day, knowing you've lost 16 lbs....congratulations again and keep up the great job! When I went to the nutritionist, she recommended 30 carbs/per meal, and 90-120 grams of protein. I need to start writing everything down in a journal as I did freshly post-op. Back to Basics.
Being Type 1 diabetic, I have to have sugar substitutes, why do you think they aren't allowed, just curious?
Wendy
Wendy, they said to leave off the sugar substitutes for the first two weeks , because that would help us get off of sweet stuff. They said sugar substitutes make our bodies think we're still eating sugar, because we still get that sweet flavor. But my brother in law (has lot 28 pounds on the Back On Track program-He had lost 100 when he first had his surgery) and I have started back drinking flavored water and using Splenda and we're still losing.
