so sick...

Hi there. Greetings from Jolly ol' England. We have been her a week now and everthing was going great until we went to pizza hut with my brother inlaw and his family. I have been throwing up/diarrehea since Monday. My mother in law thinks I am faking a bit.I have been sipping ginger ale it seems to be the only thing that stays down but not in. My back is so sore now my husband wants me to take tylenol 3 so that I can sleep, but can we take that?? I feel terrible and my family has to stay with me. I think I am going to send them out today. Sweetie, hang in there. Do you think it was food poisoning or pouch related? If related to your surgery, this has been going on too long and you need to see a doctor! Awwwww - I'm sending sympathy your way. I know how it feels to have a mother in law from hell, so just ignore her lack of compassion, take it easy and have your husband act as the buffer between you and mom in law. Hang in there. Please let us know how you're doing. Hugs! -W-

Gosh I'm so sorry to hear about your bout. The same thing happened to me in ***** Cana. It could have been from any number of things with me, but I am sure it isn't pouch related. My stomach hasn't been right since I got back on May 17th. Someone told me Pepto Bismol is the best to take for this, but I'm not sure. Feel better soon and I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip! Hi Nic; From everything I've read, any Tylenol product is OK for us. Your illness sounds just like the stomach bug I had a few weeks ago. If not a stomach bug, it might be food poisoning. Did anyone else eat the same thing as you? If they did and did not get sick, food poisoning seems less likely. I will say that that stomach bug I had really knocked me flat. I hope that you feel better soon and enjoy the rest of your trip. Mike

HI all! well, it is Friday and I am finally feeling better with less than 4 trips to the bathroom today @@ I called my surgeon and he said Go to the doctor don't worry gastric bypass is performed world wide they will know how to deal with you. So... we got an appoinment and went on Wednesday after 2 days of keeping NOTHING down OR in! Oh I got my temporary English residency paper work now LOL so HECK I may stay HA HA HA! SO we explain to the doctor I've had gastric bypass, not stomach stapling but rouex-n-y procedure and the doctor says ok right then. So what was that procedure you just said actually FOR??? any confidence I had was gone! We told her weight loss surgery. OH REALLLY???? you had that?????? why did you have that you look FINE to me. UHM.....you really are a doctor right????? she has me lay on the table to feel my bell lifts up my shirt, sees my scar and says @OH MY GOD thats a big scar what was that rom>????? HELLO????????????? she diagnosed gastroenteritis....stomach flu...she gave some medication but sat there and told me how there are 2 schools of thought on even giving the medication@@ JUST MAKE ME FEEL BETTER DAMN IT!!!! I HAVE SPENT NEARLY $4000 on this trip and already spent Way too many days with my mother in law! then after we got back to the house I got nervous about taking the medication, so I was hanging on to it to see if I could stand it with out it! Today we actually went out as a family. I am exhausted now. but hopefully Iwill sleep well. I ran into a shop asking to use their loo and the lady asked if I was pregnant when I came out. I said well, that would be really profitable for us! LOL ok thanks for the hugs! nic

Nic, I'm glad you're starting to feel better. I HATE being sick when I travel. The bathroom incident reminds me that when I was younger and fatter, I would tell people I was pregnant and going to hurl on their floor if they didn't let me use their bathroom.
