im at that stage were i have gained 6 pounds and am having a heck of a time losing it. its one of those things we have to deal with now. what a surprise that just eating something slightly different and not so legal can make the scale jump! i think i eat pretty conserveatively usually the same things daily. what gets me is the sugar free cookies. cookies are my favorite thing in the whole world. i found some and yes even though they are sugar free they still have calories i know that! i stick to the serving amount of 3 that equal 150 calories. i have them every day for dessert at lunch time. what i did find was even though they fit in my calorie count i would also grab one first thing in the morning as i would take the dog out then when i cam ehome i'd grab one while i was making dinner. it started out as one to curb my hunger then went to two and then i noticed that i had 3 while i was standing waiting for my lean cuisene to zap in the micro. i guess my yummy sugar free dessert is to much of a temptation and won't be coming into my house again. my thought is that i don't eat that much calorie wise. i watch what i'm having make sure i get my protein in first then fruits and veggies i rarely eat breads read labels stay away from sugar. my cookies are an issue but i'll take care of that now that i've noticed the problem. but why is it that i gained that 6 pounds and can't lose it? i dont' beleive that i need to eat less my calories stay between 1000 to 1400 sometimes on the weekend it might spike to 1600 but i watch it. i'm not doing good right now on excerisze work has been up at 5 in at 7 and not leaving til after 6. i dont 'get home til 7then have to walk the dog eat something then i hit the bed. that doesn't look like its goign to change a whole lot in the next few months. i'm stressed right now between work, oldest son first wedding of my children plus he's moved over an hour away, very close to daughter just got engaged and she is moving out of state over the summer, younger son will be moving out of state too, cutting of the painful apron strings, break up of my own engagement and relationship, all of that is putting me under a blah mood.

Pam, This is purely Connie's theory, but I do think that stress can cause you to retain water and therefore, weight. That's based strictly on my own experience. How is your water intake? Are you eating a lot of salty food? C.

One of my favorite LIES: The food we eat standing up does not really count... Sounds like you have been buying into this one too! Joy

One of my favorite lies is that breaking the cookie before you eat it releases the calories. Same goes for chips. C.
