Hi, Bonnie. I had lap rny on 3/18/03. Down 54 pound as of today. Read my profile for slow slow slow...just starting to go a little faster now. You're doing super super great. Everyone tells me "don't compare yourself to other," they don't understand. I do!!! You'll go at your pace, no one elses....remember the turtle did win the race! You go girl!
Topic: RE: insomnia and/or anxiety?
I also had severe anxiety (every time I woke up )but it started about a year before my surgery probably because of all the weight & the fact I couldn't get around at all. I finally told my doctor & he prescribed Paxil which did the trick!!I don't feel weird like some meds can make you. Go to the doctor NOW!!!!! So many people have anxiety these days; it is no shame to be anxious. Call tomorrow & get cured....GOOD LUCK!!!!!'
Topic: insomnia and/or anxiety?
Has anyone else noticed an increase in these problems since the surgery? And if so, what are you doing? I have taken all the "recommended" steps to prevent it but nothing is working. I go, go, go all day long to wear myself out and still am averaging 3-4 hours at least four times a week. Yes, I have some stress in my life but no more or less than prior to the surgery. Any input?
Topic: what a great board! Questions on Curves, and other things...
Hi! Wow, I'm so glad I stumbled on this board! What a great idea. I had my surgery on 3-3-03 (cool date huh?) I started at 240 and am down to 183-185 on any given day. I'm at a standstill and think I'm gonna try the all liquid for a week. The flux up and down is maddening although I'm so thrilled with what I've accomplished so far.
In the June 17th issue of Woman's World they had an article, with exercises from the Curves for Women workout routine. I purchased the exercise tube that was recommended and did the work out yesterday. I have to say that I felt "tender" in my upper abdomen still, so I stopped the upper arm exercises. Anyone else still being real careful with the workout? I've been able to mow, walk, pull weeds, garden, etc. with no problem. It just seems when I "target" my abdomen, upper and lower, I get a little scared due to the sensations. So....I back off.
I'm still have my good and bad days with protein, water, foods bothering me, not bothering me, etc. but I wouldn't trade having this surgery for all the tea in China! Well, I'm going to bookmark this site. Way wonderful! Blessed Be, Ajnabeliever (laurie)
Topic: RE: SO SLOW..I am so discouraged
Hello everyone,
Boy do I feel much better after reading these posts. I had surgery on 3/18/03 and so for I have lost about 58lbs. I am having a hard time with the protein and water, but I do try my best. My scale has not moved in about 2 weeks and it is very discouraging, but as I said I feel better after reading the previous posts and I need to realize I need to be patient. I just want to be thin so bad that I weigh myself everyday! I am going to quit doing that, it only makes me feel bad. I have to say that I do feel good about my weight loss but I have never lost 100lbs before and that is my main goal. I hope that it will happen but I just want it to happen now!........
Topic: RE: 3/31/03 Surgery Post-op Patient
Hi Wendy, We share the same rebirthday date, I too had my surgery on March 31st. and I have lost 46lbs so far. I think I am a slow losser too, but the doc tells me I am doing just fine and right on track. I started at 297lbs and now I weight 250lbs (a first since 13 years) I wish I would lose weight faster, but I will take what I get and just be happy and be glad I have had no complications and no dumping!!! Lap RNY

Congrats to you on taking this journey. I had my surgery on 3/24. I don't know where you started or what kind of surgery you had but 47 lbs is not bad. I have lost approximately 60, I started at 317 and had open RNY. I feel like I can eat more than I should and try to stop eating before I am full but that doesn't always work. Best of luck and keep up the good work
