Marilyn....Have you tried the thinly sliced meats in the 2.5-3 ounce packages? They seem to taste better than other meat to me as I can't abide regular meat fish or poultry. Hope this helps. I also am losing slowly & do admit to cheating. After all we still have those same old habits & when stres****s me there I am again eating! UGH!!!!! GOOD LUCK & KEEP ON TRUCKIN.......

Topic: Protein Suggestions
Hi Everyone, I'm really desperate. As I've posted before I'm a very slow loser and in three months have only lost 31.5lbs. I'm open to suggestions regarding protein. Can anyone email me with some TASTY protein suggestions.

Topic: 3 Month Post-op Update
Hello March 2003 Wls'ers! I'm three months Post-op today and it has been a long time since I last posted. Everything has been good so far, I can't complain, I am down 80 Lbs. since my Lap Rny surgery 3/20/03 and I feel wonderful! I can do more things and I don't get so tired just by walking a few blocks, I can go on and on. I thought I would never be able to lose weight and now it's happening. Thank God I had this surgery and I feel healthy. My whole family now knows I had the surgery and I now know why I kept it a secret for as long as I did, I have a more detailed update on my Profile. I also wanted to say how funny it is how some people react when they notice you have lost weight. Thanks to all of you for being my inspirations and posting your experiences, it really helped me get through this. God Bless.

Topic: RE: Do you think I am progressing ok
Catherine, I think it sounds like you're right on the money. I had my surgery on 3-3-03 with a start weight of 240 and I'm 5'5. BMI was 40. I have lost 55 lbs and feel like it's too slow also. I think it's hard because we get use to the rapid weight loss in the first few months. Then, when it slows down some, we freak; which is understandable due to our anxieties about our obesity. Heck, everything else has failed for us in the past, it is hard to believe this works, but it does. I have only lost an additional 10 lbs. since May 15th. Yesterday I stuck with only protein shakes (real meals) and had 90 gms. of protien instead of my 30-60. I've been bad about getting in the protein and especially the water. Managed to get the 64 oz. of water in also. Today....the scale is moving again. When I read the post about the heart being a muscle, and muscles need protein in order to survive this process, well, that lit a fire under my a##! So, 90-100 gm. of protien a day come hell or high water for this kid! You're doing great. Just go back to the beginning when the weight slows down. That seems to have worked for me!

Topic: RE: Alexian Brothers Hospital...March 6 anyone there at that time?
hi, i had surgery on March 6 as well, and i'm doing great too, i'm down about 88 lbs, the only negative is that i had to have my gallbladder taken out last week, but it wasn't bad. If i saw your face i might remember you, but i'm terrible with names! Take care.

I know , I have said this before I am a slow loser .. But why am I>. The world may never know LOL I started out 256 back in Aug 2002. Lost 5 pounds prior to Surgery. The day of surgery I was 251.5. I am exacly 3 months 2 days post op.. I have lost 48 pounds since the day of surgery. If you include the 5 prior I have lost 53 pounds .. Is this a normal weight loss for a 5ft 3inch person..Starting BMI was 44.3

Topic: RE: HELP - I'm The Slowest Loser Ever To Have This Surgery
Hi, Marilyn. Read my profile. I increased my water and protein to about 100 oz and 100g, respectively and now it's moving faster. Once again, read my profile. Good luck. Keep up the good work, you're doing excellent.
