Great job Teri, I know what ya mean by never having been able to loose it on your own, I started out at 250 im only 5'5" and am now down to 142 when I hit that 148 mark and my BMI finally came back as normal I celebrated. I eat most anything I want but do make sure to get in atleast 80mg of protien a day and 64+ ounces of water. I work out 4-5 times a week and am finally able to work on my stomach muscles or what is left of them. Keep up the good work all of you its a bumpy road but one well worth traveling. Smile Sue

Congats on your success!!! I had my surgery 3/24/03, weighting 317 lbs and have lost 80 lbs so far. I walk my tread mill 7 minutes a nite, 5 times a week. And I walk the mall the other 2 days. I feel great also. It is so much easier to chase after my 3 year old. Keep up the good work, and post more often it is nice to see where everyone is at.

Congratulations on your success. I wish that I was half way there. I had my surgery on March 7, 2003 and started at 389 pounds and I have only lost 60 pounds. It really gets depressing. I will weigh in at my doctors office on August 7 and hope things are moving again. I often wonder is the slow loss due to my Depro-Provera for birth control. When I see my doctor in September I am going to check on another method. Keep up the good work and God Bless You.

This is my first post to this forum.I had my surgery on March 11,03.I weighed in at 442.I am now down to 303.that makes my loss 139 pounds.I am working out 3 times a week, feeling great.I had a visit to the ER Thursday and wound up in the hospital for a few days.I am not sure if it was surgery related,I had a UTI and bad abdominal cramps.I feel weaker than normal, but I know it will improve.Everyone else, keep up the good work.
Topic: RE: Comparing weight loss
Today Im feeling pretty down on my luck,Thanks So much to those Who have taken the time to e-mail me... I was starting to get a little depressed with my weigh loss results... everytime I get on Obesiteyhelp.com I get off upset because I have read so many profiles where people that have had the surgery after me have lost twice as much as I have. It starts to make me wonder if my doctor really Knew what he was doing when it came to me. He keeps reasuring me that he didn't make my stomach that small because in the long run I will end up loosing to much weight.
But I had this surgery so I wouldn't have to diet any more and be able to live life like other with out a eating disorder because that is exactly what it is. And now I find my self still having to diet to loose a couple of pounds. I work out every day at the Gym with a personal trainer but to not much results..
I guess I have to be greatful because never in my life was I able to lose 50lbs in 4 months. I will come back later with a better attitude.. Until then Keep your head up and I will try and do the same.
