Topic: Cravings
Hi Everyone. Am I alone with this or not but I've come to the conclusion that I still have cravings. I hear so often that many after this surgery no longer have cravings for foods. This could not be far from the truth for me. I've noticed that most of my cravings come after I've worked out at the gym in the evening. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had my surgery 3/3/03 and I still spend close to half of the day in the bathroom. Especially in the A.M. Any one have a suggestion? Vic Novak

Hi Tammy, I had my surgery 3/3/03 and I am finally starting to be able to eat w/o all of the pain and throwing up. It still happens but not as often. Vic Novak

Hi Heidi, I had my surgery 3 days after you. Sorry to hear your not feeling quite right. I have not been tired at all. I have more energy that I can ever remember having. I have lost 85 lbs. Are you getting enough protein? Vitamins? I can tell when I haven't taken my vitamin for the day. Once I take it I perk right up. My blood work came back all at normal or above also. I have heard people talk about vitamin B12 also. My surgeon never mentioned it but I talked to my PCP about it and said mine looked great and we would cross that bridge if/when it ever became necessary. That might be something to look into. Hope you get over the "tired" feeling. Jan

Topic: Is anyone feeling tired?
Hi Everyone, I'm almost 5 months out. I had my surgery on 3/21/03 and so far I've lost 68 pounds. I've been feeling really tired this last month and I was wondering if anyone else was feeling that way. I went to my reg. medical doctor and had him run blood work and he said everything looks fine. He said we will just keep an eye on it and it might be caused by my rapid weight loss. I've also been seeing things about "free flowing estrogen" could this be the cause? Any ides?? Thanks, Heidi

I AM THE SAME WAY. I AM GLAD YOU MENTIONED THAT. I HAVE ONLY LOST 61 POUNDS IN FIVE MONTHS AND STARTED AT 389 POUNDS SIZE 32/34 AND NOW I CAN WEAR A 26. THE SCALE IS NOT MOVING BUT I AM STILL SHRINKING. I HAD GOTTEN MYSELF SO DEPRESSED OVER THE SCALE THAT I WAS REALLY WORRIED IF THIS IS ALL I AM GOING TO LOOSE. WE WILL JUST HAVE TO HANG IN HERE AND LET THE BODY TAKE CONTROL.

You must be re-arranging you body into muscle instead of fat. You may not lose weight but you are gaining muscle therefore the area's where the fat were are shrinking. Keep up the good work.

Topic: RE: OLD PANTS.. Been waiting to do this for awhile LOL
Congrats you look great. I have been trying to get a pair of my pants back from a friend so that I can see if I can do the same thing. I have lost 84-87 lbs (depending on the scale) since my surgery 3/24/03.

Hi everyone.....How is it that I'm constantly going down in clothing sizes and not losing according to the scale......I know that we lose inches but I just did not think that I was losing that many inches.....I'm a very slow loser and have only lost 53lbs in 5 months.....but yet I started out wearing 32/34 size dresses and now this past weekend I was able to get in a 22/24 dress and then I tried on several other 24/26 outfits and was able to wear every last one of them and had room to spare.....you go figure - LOL.....I'm extremly happy that I'm losing and going down in clothing sizes but it just make me wonder about my body.....I sometimes feel so depressed that I'm only losing 2-5lbs a month and that maybe this is it but then when something like this happens it makes me go WOW!!!!!!.....I guess that my exercising 5 days a week and drinking like a camel is really working but only in inches?????
