CONGRATULATIONS Tawana!!!! Please tell me what you are doing right. I'm a very slow loser and I do everything that you do but I've only lost 57lbs and have only gone from a size 32 to 26. I had my LAP RNY WLS on 3/27/03 and will 6 month post-op on the 27th. I exercise probably 3-4 days for about 1-2hrs and drink plenty of water and take my vitamins religiously every day. I'm still a very slow loser. What is a typical day like for you? Many blessings, Marilyn in Lexington, KY.

Hi Bonnie. Just wanted to reach out to you to say that I have been going crazy trying to keep up with clothes and weight loss. I am loosing weight so fast that I can bearly keep up with "what size" I am wearing. Going from a size 28 to an 18 in six months is absolutely incredible..... I have decided not to get rid of my old clothes because my mom said she will alter all of them for me. It can become very expensive buying new clothes every other week. Congradulations on fitting into your new clothes!

Topic: Six Month Post-Op
Hi there everyone. I had my surgery (DS) on March 17, 2003. So far, I have lost 126lbs. I am due to go in for my six month post-op appointment with the surgeon on September 26, 2003, but I am nervous because I think I am loosing the weight a bit fast. What do you all think? By the way, I feel great! I eat plenty of protein and I drink lots of water and I am faithful to my vitamin regiment. I work out (walking a mile) everyday. Tell me what am I doing wrong? I have gon from a size 28 to a size 18 in six months!

I agree with you whole heartedly. I have some pants that were tight when I had surgery, and are now baggy but still wearable. Then on the other hand I have some that when I put them on they just fall right off, nothing to hold them up. As for shirts I can still wear all of mine and have them not look too bad except the ones with a scoop neck as they now fall off my shoulders and expose the bra straps. It is just a wonderful feeling to be able to go into the stores and not be able to find anything to wear since they are all TOO BIG!!!!! Keep up the good work. You and I are so simular as I too had surgery the same week (3/24/03) and my goal is approximately 150 also. Jan 317/222/154

It is amazing how I can lose 80+ lbs & still fit in the same clothes I did before WLS...Although the tops are really hanging.the pants aren't really too saggy...but you post-ops know how that goes...RIGHT??? BUT...I am finally fitting in some clothes that were so tight that I wouldn't have dared wear them in public & they are actually loose!!! ANYWAY....I'M SO EXCITED I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THAT...LOVE THIS MESSAGE BOARD...445/365/150

Today is my 6 month anniverary. I fell great! I have lost 75 lbs., and have lots of energy. I can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings on. You might even say that 6 months ago was my birthday, the day that I stated my new life. I feel much more healthier.

GOOD FOR YOU JOSEPH!!!!! WHAT A LOT OF WEIGHT TO LOSE!!!!!..I had my open RNY 03/26/03 & as of 2 weeks ago I am down 80 lbs & my energy level is so very high. I read your profile & it is funny how the people that didn't want you to have the surgery are now getting surgery themselves. Did you know there is only a 1% mortality rate with WLS but there is something like an 85% mortality rate for obesity & its complications? I think you know by now that we all made the right decision to have surgery...GOOD LUCK TO YOU...BONNIE IN ZEPHYRHILLS FL

Way to go Joseph. It's amazing how the more you weight, the faster you lose. You lost in 2 months what it has taken me almost 6 months to lose. My goal is 154 so I have about 68 more to go. Keep up the good work. Jan RNY 3/24/03 317/222/154
