Topic: Today is my 6 month Anniversary!
Oh my God! Has it been 6 months already? Time sure flies!!! Where can I begin? I am currently weighing 170 Lbs and have been holding that weight for a while now. I am now wearing a regular size 14 from a size 30/32! I don't mind the plateau because I know my body needs to take a break from time to time. Life is so much better for me now. It's amazing just how free you feel when you lose this much weight! I actually look forward to working out! I am very careful with what I eat and I love it! Sometimes I wish I was this way before the surgery and maybe I would not have gained all that weight. This is such an incredible journey and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Although I have lost 115 Lbs since my surgery I still have a way to get to my ideal weight for my height, which is supposed to be 135 Lbs. Let's see if I ever get there. I only hope the next 6 months get even better!! Thanks to all of you who have supported me throughout my journey! I am so grateful!! I love you all!! God bless....And Congratulations to all the loosers!!
Topic: My anniversary
Hey guys! Today is my 6 month anniversary. I weighed this morning and I am down 105 since surgery. I started out at 392 and size 32 and occassionally 34. I now wear a loose 24. Man, what a difference this surgery has made in my life. I think I was born again with a whole new outlook on life that day. I knew going in things would be totally different post-op but I never expected them to be this good. I work out with a personal trainer 3-4 days a week for 1.5 hours a day. I try to do atleast 20-30 minutes of cardio on the off days. Many people have commented about how can you afford a personal trainer- well let's see, I don't eat what I use to eat nor spend the money on junk food and snacks like I use to. I no longer take high blood pressure medication and my co-pay each month was $35.00 for it, which I use towards my personal trainer fund as well. I do protein shakes as well and people have asked the same question there- and I respond the same. I look at it like this- If I wasn't spending the money on bills or whatever before and I was spending it on my stomach, why change it now? LOL- So now I just spend it on my body and my long term health. Anyway, just wanted to share with everyone how things are for me now. It is awesome to be able to walk into just about any department store and buy something off of the rack. And I love going into my old faithful plus size shops and not buying the largest size in the store!! Good Luck everyone. Can you imagine our lives in another 6 months???

Marilyn- First of all you are not a failure!!! Tell me how else could you have lost 60 lbs in 5 1/2 months? And have kept it off? There isn't a way or all of us would have done that instead of having surgery girlfriend! Alot of how fast you lose your weight depends on a combination of the following factors: your age, your starting weight, your metabolism, your fluid intake, your exercise schedule. Also remember that you could be starving your body. When I hit a plateau and called my surgeon's office in panic mode, he asked me to keep a journal of everything I did, ate and drank. For as much exercise as I was doing I wasn't feeding my body enough calories so it was keeping everything I gave it. I took his advice and uped my calories for a couple of days and BAM- lost 3 lbs. Anyway, my point is, you aren't a failure and everyone loses at different rates. I will be honest with you and tell you I think I am the BOMB until I talk to someone who did better than I have and I question everything- So I made a commitment to myself and said - remember you are doing this and succeeding and this is the pace you are meant to lose it. I want this to be a success for me long-term. I remind myself I was OBESE my entire life so of course I shouldn't expect the lbs and inches to have all melted away in 6 months. I started out at 392 and have lost 105 lbs as of today (my anniversary). This is approx 1/4 of my original body weight- how much of your body weight have you lost? Maybe then you will feel like the winner you are! Amanda

Anita, whether you hit the century mark by tomorrow is not important the thing is that you are still losing!! You will get there just be patient. You have done great!!! Congratulations on your 6 month anniversary!! Mine is tomorrow too!!

Anita your doing great. It didn't go on in 6 months, we should be happy at how much is coming off, not how fast it is. I too am about 5 days from my 6 months anniversary and I too will most likely not make the century club either. I am okay with this and will be happy when I do get there. Have a great weekend. Keep up the good work.

Well, tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary and I was so hoping to be in the preverbial "century club" by then. But it ain't happening! But I am way happy with the 82lbs I have lost and I will stretch my goal out a bit...I will be in the Cnetury club by Thanksgiving! How's that for a stretch! Anyways, hope everyone is doing good and staying positive!!

Hey girlie, your doing wonderful. I am right behind you at 95 lbs and my 6 months is 7 days away. But unlike you I still have another 50 to go before I get close to my goal. Keep up the good work and you will get there.
