Topic: 2 Year WLS Anniversary Already!! 3-20-05!
Hey March 2003 Wls'ers! Can you believe it has been 2 years since our surgeries! Life has changed drastically as a result. I am so grateful for this surgery and grateful that it actually helped me lose all this weight! I am past my goal weight and I can shop in any store I please, even the junior section! LOL I love it! Eating is still somewhat an issue for me since I have now become the pickiest eater on the planet (so my husband says) other than that it's all good! How has your life changed these past 2 years?? HAPPY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Hugs to all my March 2003 Family! Marilyn

Dawn, good morning. My 2nd anniversary is also in March. In fact, it was on March 6. I have lost 230 pounds! That's right. 230lbs!!! And I feel absolutely wonderful. The only negative thing I have right now in my Peripheral Neuropathy that is a result from my Diabetes I had prior to my surgery. I no longer have the DIabetes, but the Neuropathy, unforyunately, will be around with me for the rest of my life. If that's all I have to deal with, so be it. I am happy and living life to the fullest with my wife and two wonderful sons. Hope your life is going well for you anda hope you are having the ride of your life.

I can't believe its been 2 years March31st!!!! I still feel really strange sometimes when I look in the mirror. But its the best thing I ever did for my self. I have more self confidence and self esteem than I ever had. It is such a great feeling. I've got a daycare and I never wanted to go out of the house because I didn't want any body to see me. Now I'm planning to go back to college in August. I just can't wait to get back out in the world!!! Anybody with the same anniversary as me please email me. I still need all the support I can get and I'll also give you some. I still crave chocolate but its getting better. I've lost 145 lbs and going shopping and being on the other side of the store was the neatest thing for me and thats making it easier to stop the cravings. Good luck to everyone!!!!

Topic: RE: Plastic surgery consult
Good luck with the insurance thing. I am 2 yr PO and saw a plastic surgeon last month, got a letter from ins they want more info for their determination. My main concern is the bat wings, but I''ll take anything the ins. will pay for. The bad thing is I dont have a neg documentation on the wings just on the tummy. I really feel like I might be lifted off the ground if a strong wind came along. Here's wishing us a good things as far as the insurance goes. If that dont work I guess I will have to live this way forever. because of pre-existing heart stuff the Dr. wont do more than one thing at a time and I would have to stay to be monitored and that would all be out of pocket because who knows what might come up. Let us know how you make out Judy

Hi all. I'm going to do the Bay2Breakers again this year. Did it last year with a group from our support group. Took us nearly 4 hours to complete. We had one guy that had just had his surgery two weeks prior to the big race. I hope to fini**** a bit faster this year. Any of you going to do the Bay2Breakers this year. Let me know and we can all walk together. Allen B.

Topic: Celebrating our two year anniversary today 03-03-03!
To all who were there for our special day, two years ago today, Happy Anniversary! I am so glad I had it as several family members have now followed after watching me for over year maintain my weight. I had my tummy done in Sept '04 and that has really made the difference. At 50 years old in May, I will be wearing a two piece for the first time in over 30 years...wow..keeping up on my water has been my key to maintaining a size 8. I had not been able to do any exercise due to a car accident injury, but now just starting sits ups with an exercise ball, this is really helping alot. Congrats to all who have made this quality life decision! Linda Carpenter

Topic: RE: one year behind you
hi Leslie..my one year anniversary will be march 8...the doctor also gave me a goal weight of 144 lbs...i still have 26 lbs. to go..and like you it seems to be going real slow this past couple of months....im trying to be optimistic though...cause i know i haven't been doing my best in eatting correctly, nor have i been exercising regularly....i don't go on the scale daily, cause theres been times when i haven't lost any weight...but when i do and see 10 lbs gone i am thrilled...don't dispear,i have been told your body adjusts to the new weight so it takes time to lose more...you seem to be doing more than me..i don't count my calories..measure my inches....but i did lose 152 lbs thus far....i also noticed that i lose a few more lbs. a week or 2 after my period... don't be frustrated...continue what your doing...talk to your nutritionalist....maybe they can advise you, most of all..best wishes..hang in there...and by the way..keep the goal the dr. set for you..i know 144 lbs. sounds like it is still alot.but when you think about it,, if you have the tummy tuck and all that..you will be losing a few more...hugsssssss..... carole
