Hi Jan, I use these protein bars and the Detour every single day. Walgreens and Krogers carry the small bars. But absolutely the best price is at Walmart. $1.23. Good luck to you. Ann in TX 414/298/140

Way to go on the loss. Glad you are feeling great. I am right with you on the loss. Today 11/24 is my 8 month anniversary as well. I am down 122 from 328 to 206. I so want to be out of the 200's before the end of the month.......but I don't think I can lose 6 lbs in the next 7 days. Keep up the good work and continue to post, we all enjoy see where everyone else is on their journey.

Hi Heather. Congratulations on the great loss. I'm down 93 and am happy with that. I'm working on the 100 pounds by Christmas, hopefully. I'm with you, feel great (think I look great too!! - no beauty contest winner, tho) and enjoying life much more. I was lucky and didn't seem to lose much hair. It did get kind of thin (I'm a natural blonde) and I had to do without a perm until just last week as I was afraid it would cause my hair to fall out. Thank goodness it didn't. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. This will be first time that I didn't stuff myself more than the turkey.

Hi Anita. I think we had surgery the same day (3/20). I can't say my weight loss has come off as quickly as I wanted, but I'm taking it a day (and a pound) at a time. I am down 93 pounds (luckily still losing 1 - 2 pounds a week. But it has been that slow for me since I was about 3 months out. And my dr has said it wouldn't probably slow down more over the next couple of months. He did, however, say that he didn't recognize a plateau until you have not only stopped losing weight, but losing inches, too. I refuse to become a slave to the scale. As long as I know I'm eating right to make me healthy, I'll settle for that. I did reach a minor goal, dropped under 200 for the first time in years. Just remember you are not a failure, and are only a loser in the best of contexts. We are all winners in this game. So hang in there. Remember we all care about you and will be there for you. If you need to contact me, feel free to do so. Linda

I completely agree with what Jan stated. Sometimes we have to trick our bodies into loosing weight. If you body thinks oh my God this is all the calories that I get in one day.. I need to hold on to as many as I can. I have often when in a rut, eaten more calories for a few day's and this does seem to do the trick sometimes. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat! Congratulations on your loss so far, and keep up the good work. You are not a failure, it will work for you. What I have discovered is that the smaller you get the harder you have to work to loose the weight. My Dr. told me that he could get me to 180 but after that it was all up to me. I thought, no way, I'm having a great loss, I wont slow down. And wouldn't you know it as soon as I hit 180 my weight loss slowed down.. It really slowed down.. I'm thankful for the loss so far, but I have realized that we do need to give our bodies time to adjust. Best Wishes~

Hello everyone, I'm down 123 pounds from 280, currently weighing in at 156. I love how great I feel, I just wish the hair would grow back. I read everyone's post and I want to tell you all to keep posting. You are such an inspiration to others and myself. I often lurk, but my goal is to post and support others during their journey. Best Wishes~

Well definately let us know how this works out for you! Have a safe and wonderful trip to Chicago! I am stuck too! I only have 19 little lbs to go for that Ideal body weight mark! I went for my 6 month check and it is like everything stopped - I've only managed 4 lbs since Sept - giving me a total of 91 lbs gone! Hopefully by Christmas I can say those 19 lbs are gone and gone for good! Take care!

Wow you have done wonderfully! My surgery was 3/17/03 - started off at 241 and currently stuck at 151! It is frustrating but I will work for that last 19 lbs! Keep up the good work!

Venting is allowed. Some advise I have received is, change up the routine. Add a few more calories, or protein grams or change the exercise routine. A ten week plateau is a long time. Talk to your surgeon or nutritionist see if there is something your doing that isn't clicking. Maybe write down everything, I mean everything that goes into your mouth and see if the list is actually bigger than you think it is. If none of that works, you can always go back to the liquid stage for a week to kick start things again. Hope some of this helps. Have a great week.

Topic: RE: Finally in the Century Club
Congrats on making it to the Century Club Nancy! That is so awesome! I am still hoping to get there soon! I still have about 14lbs to go though! I am sure you will have an awesome time on your cruise and will look fabulous in your new bathing suit! We are going on a cruise the last week in January - hopefully I will be in that century club by then! Here is a great dessert I made recently that was a huge hit! Good luck!Moose Track Pie 1 box cook and serve sugar free chocolate pudding/pie mix ½ tub of cool whip extra creamy (low fat) ¼ cup peanut butter One graham cracker piecrust Pecan chips or peanuts (optional) Follow the directions to make the pudding in the microwave. (This way it doesn't burn!) I like to add a scoop of chocolate protein powder for a kick. Let the pudding cool slightly. Add the peanut butter and blend. This doesn't have to be perfect. Let the mixture cool. Fold in ¼ of the tub of cool whip. Pour into pie shell. Cover with remaining cool whip. Sprinkle with pecans or peanuts. Chill and serve.
