I'm so sorry you got so sick. I just hate it when the doctors can't tell us what is going on. Sounds like maybe you had a touch of food poisining or maybe some flu? Never experienced anything like this. Glad you are feeling better and let us know if they ever decide what it was. Have a great week.

Hi- Ilove this site- Don't usually post just enjoy reading. I had my surger on March 17, 2003 and as of today have lost 87. I am a slow loser- but that's ok- I only have 100 to lose. I have a question- On Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 I ate some cabbage and chicken in the school cafeteria. Don't usually eat the food in the cafeteria, but had no lunch that day. About 15 min. after I ate I started feeling nauseated- but not like I had eaten to much. Later my stomach started cramping really bad- like I had mentrual cramps- ( I had a complete hysterectomy in 1993) I started the cold sweats then. I finally got home and got in the bed, but the cramping continued. To make a long story short- I ended up in the hospital. I got in such pain that I started hperventilating- my hands, legs and face went numb. I really thought I was going to die. My husband called 911- Of course I told them I was 8 months post op. They transported me to the hospital- they x-rayed, did an ultra sound on my gall bladder and found nothing. Has anyone ever experienced this? I called my surgeon - but he said there was really nothing he could do- to let my regular doctor handle everything. I stayed two nights in the hospital. After I got home I still cramped for about 3 days- was able to use the bathroom ok so I knew there was no blockage. My doctor said she did not think it was related to my surgery at all. She said it could have been gas from the cabbage. I just hope that is all it is. I just was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I don't ever remember being in this much pain!!

It (Thanksgiving) wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Probably because I don't crave sweets, so the pies, cookies, and such didn't bother me. The problem I had is that I still (and probably always will) suffer from head hunger and I don't want to stop eating when I feel that full feeling. At least I listen to my stomach and not my head! On a even better note, I bought a size 12 pair of Gap kakhi's this weekend and they fit. A little snug, but they fit! I'm down ~100 lbs and still have about 25 more to go. I'm happy where I'm at, but am working toward having a "normal" BMI, wherever the number may fall.

Marilyn, I am so proud of you. I'm just a week ahead of you (3/20) and have lost a little more than you, but it is so good to have those little milestones. The first cold spell we had a couple of weeks ago, I reached for the jackets/sweaters I wore last year. Guess what, nothing fit!! A little frustrating at the time, but oh so wonderful. I even went out this week and bought a new windbreaker. Unlike you, was not able to borrow my husband's as he is the size I was when I started. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, we all have so much to be thankful for now. For the first time in many years, I felt stuffed, but only with those few bites, not the third plateful. So keep up the good work. Linda .... 290.5/195.5/150??
