I can not believe it will be Three Years soon. God has brought me this way so far, and I have faith that he will continue to do so.

Topic: RE: SCARED and Seeking Support and Reassurance
Yolanda, This surgery is the best thing I have ever done. When I had surgery March 6, 2003 I weighed 313 lbs. I have lost 120 lbs. The last year I have had some tough times as I have been through a divorce and moved to a new state but I am still so glad I did it. Still need to loose about 50 lbs but I am determined to do it. Hang in there. Shop for the best Dr. you can find. My Dr. in Indiana was super. The best in the state (Dr. Huse). He has a great support program and that is important. You need a good support program at home. If you have a spouse it would help if your spouse will support you but if your spouse won't support you do it anyway. This is for you and no one else. Good Luck rosegarden 3/6/2003 -120 lbs

Yes tomorrow is my big day and I am a nervous wreck....I was just reading over the first two weeks of ONLY liguids...My question is do we still drink all tha****er 1/2 hour before or after THE LIGUID meals??? Or does the liguid take the place of the water? I am a bit confused on this. Thanks for any help or support you can give me. Phyllis C.

Wow Its hard to believe 2 years have gone buy.. I almost missed my anniversary, because on March 18th i had some plastic surgery done.. Gosh I have so much PS to do.. But found a wonderful surgeon Dr. Yaker. I haven;t had much time update, so i'm doing it now.. So far ive lost from 412 to 195 .. thats a total of 217 pounds.. I want to lose another 35 to 40 pounds, but its getting very hard to lose now.. I may just have to be happy at 170 or so.. I've read most of all your posts, and am so proud of all of you.. We've all come such a long way.. This truely is a miracle surgery.. and i'd do it 100 times over again if need be.. I just know everyone out there feels the same way. I continue to drink my protein shakes.. and my small meals. Seems to help keep me on track.. I am still losing, just slowly.. I'm paying for Years of messing up my metabolism ,, Well take care my March babies.. Big huggs and congradulations,,.. Karen

Topic: My 2-year Anniversary Post
3.29.05 -- Where do I even begin? On Feb. 6, 2005 I was involved in a horrific accident which nearly took my daughter's life. She was thrown from the vehicle and landed 20 ft. from the car. She was flown to Shock Trauma where she was in a drug induced coma for two weeks and continued in critical care for another three weeks. She is now living at a rehabiliation center and will hopefully be home with a month. She has a Traumatic Brain Injury (BTI) and is suffering from post traumatic amnesia. She is learning to walk, eat, and function. She is considered "disabled" but with God's grace will make a full recovery within time. Through all of this I am so thankful to have my daughter with me and that her work here on earth is not done. My two year wls anniversary is this Thursday, 3/31/05. I'm maintaining my weight and watch everything I put into my mouth. I still eat protein first, veggies second, and if there is room carbs (only once a day). I drink my water, take my vitamins, and am forever thankful for this surgery. I do struggle with my exercise but will continually remind myself and work on doing better. My mother had wls this January and is doing remarkable well. She feels great, eats well, and learned by my mistakes in the early stages what to and not to do. She is down about 40 lbs. in her eight weeks post op. This year so far, 2005, has brought me great heartache, depair, strength, and courage. We don't know why things happen in our lives. We may never know why, but I believe through others we learn life lessons. I pray through my experience that others learn to love those who mean the most to us as we never know what tomorrow brings. God Bless. -- Wendy
