Topic: RE: Has anyone tried the Atkins stuff???
Hello Laura, I tried the Atkins strawberry shake and didn't care for it. I LOVE the Slimfast low carb milkshakes that have 20 g of protein in a single serving can. You have to look at them to make sure it is the right one with 20 g of protein some of the others only have about 8 g protein. The only protein bars that I like is Balance Gold in any flavor have about 15 g protein but taste REALLY good & the Zone bars have about 16 g of protein. I tried other bars and could not stand to eat them. They went right in the trash. Best of luck! It is really hard for me at this point. I have to work HARD for every pound I loose now. Down 115 lbs! Still so far to go. 340/225/150

Hey ya'll, New clothes is fun. I love other people giving me their things and finding that their clothes are too big!!! I have gone from my highest weight on 12/22/02 of 364 lbs., and 309 on my day of surgery (3/20/03) to yesterday's weight of 170lbs. even. I think I will probably lose another 4-5 lbs. this week because I have just gotten out of the hospital this past Monday from having knee replacement surgery on 1/20/04 (10 mos. after WLS) and I still have some swelling from the fluids, etc. I actually weighed 188.6 a few days after surgery and I almost freaked!!! They tried to calm me with "It's just fluid." but I still freaked until it did go away in 2 weeks . Now for my stats: Before: Bra 54E-F Now: 34D ("D" only b/c have to fold-up breasts ) Before: Panties TIGHT 13-14 Now: comfortable 7-8 Before: Pants 5-6x or HUGE Now: 14 (sweats) and 16-18 in dress pants and jeans Before: Blouses 5-6x or 54-56 Now: 10-12 (from waist up) and 14-16 for straight shirts Before: Shoes 7-1/2 - 8 w Now: 7 - 7-1/2 medium Fun, huh?! Blessings, Cyndi

Topic: RE: plastic surgery
I want to have my plastic surgery this spring... Im in kind of a rush because my husband and I are divorcing ( "liked me better fat" he said ) and he promised surgery before the divorce. How nice of him... I want to have a full out body lift. My fanny has fallen, my belly as well, and I look like gravity has taken its toll.. ( but who cares I can wear size 14s again )

As you all know we will be 1 year post op here soon (My goodness where the heck has the time gone?) I am scheduled for a tummy tuck on June 28th at 7 am. Has anyone had plastic surgery yet? If so, what kind and how are the results?

I know what you mean. I've been hoving around 180 since Thanksgiving. I just keep eating the protein and drinking water. I need to exercise more. I think that is what will shake it. -- Wendy

I like the Atkins pre-made shakes. I haven't tried the bars. I don't really use protein supplements anymore. I get around 100 grams of protein in a day with food. -- Wendy

The only thing I have tried is the Atkins Advantage Chocolate Brownie bar. It has 21 grams of protein, 220 calories and 8 grams fat. This is the only protein type bar I have found that doesn't have the protein smell or the nasty chocolate coating on it. It is a little dense and I can only eat about 1/2 of it at a time but not too bad for a meal on the run. Jan P

Has anyone tried the Atkins shakes or bars or any of the foods? Are they high in Protein, or just low in carbs? Do they taste any good? Thanks for your opinion!!! ~Laura

Topic: RE: 3-24-03 surgery date 10 month postop update
I am so glad that I am not the only one going through this. I felt so lonely! I have only lost 90 pounds ( I think, I haven't weighed myself in about a month). I still have about 50-60 more to go. One of the posts before mine had a really good suggestion with the protein bars. That is what I am going to do. I crave chocolate all the time!! I guess we just have to re-focus and try to get back to basics.
