Topic: RE: First time here.
I checked out both of your profiles. You both look great. Congratulations on your loses. The last few days I have been trying to cut out the carbs and it just sucks. So i decided that I am going to cut down the carbs, not out. I will eat less carbs, more protein and try to get back to the gym. I drink alot of water so that hasn't been a problem, but I have been sneaking the occasional Diet Coke which I was addicted to before my surgery. My surgeon says absolutly no carbonation and I don't want to get back into the six pack a day habit, so I have got to cut it out. Jennifer, is your insurance paying for your TT. I luckily don't have that much sagging skin, just on my breasts which I will have to have lifted. Insurance will never pay for plastic surgery for me. I will have to save, save, save. It's great to hear from fellow 03/2003'ers. Keep up the good work and I will try to follow all of your examples.
Topic: RE: Coming up to my 10 month anniversary
I've lost 87 from my highest. My surgery was 3/05/03. We're pretty close. (Were you at the marketing forum at WI****hink I saw you there?) Anyway, just keep going. Dr. Iwanicki told me that about one year there are sometimes a trend in slight increase in weight due to increase in muscle mass. Don't get discouraged. Do you go to the WISH support? I'll be there and look for you!

Hi Cami, I know what you mean, Its very hard to get back on track. I have been trying for months. I am 5'7 and had the surgery 03-03-03. Started out at 270 now at 155, just 5 pounds from the docs goal and I just dont see me losing the last 5 pounds till I have my tummy tuck in June. I have managed to start drinking water again. I have been drinking about 70 oz a day for about 2 weeks and I have 1 coke in the evening. I now stock up on carrots and snack on them all day when I get the urge to munch.

Hey Camille, if you will kick my butt, I will kick yours. I too am only about 25 lbs from goal and have not lost anything in several months. Just have to get back on track, water, protein, water, protein, water, water, water, oh yeah and exercise. Gosh, I can't believe I am telling you this and not doing it my self. I do however, have a very nasty hernia that I am awaiting insurance approval to repair, and then maybe I can get back on track.
Good luck

Hi Karen, glad to hear you didn't stretch anything. You are doing great, keep up the good work and you will see results. I'm hoping to have insurance approval in the next 10 days to get my hernia repaird and my panni removal. Good luck on getting everything you need repaired.

Topic: First time here.
Hello my name is Camille. I had surgery Mar 18 2003. I can't believe it has almost been a year. I am excited and frustrated all at once. I was considered a lightweight at 240 pounds and 5'5" so i had planned on getting all of my weight off long before 1 year. I have gotten so off track and I haven't lost weight in many months. I am currently at 160 and my goal is at least 140. I know that is not much and I know I can do it. I just can't find the motivation. I hardly exercise anymore and I am making poor food choices. Does anyone know how much food I should be eating at 11 months? Any advice or butt kickings would be much appreciated. Congratulations to all of you losers out there. I admire your discipline and dedication to your goal.

Hi Marilyn:
You have the right attitude.. DON'T GIVE UP!!! This is a tool that God has given us to help us get healthier. You are not where you use to be, however you are not where you want to be. Remember what God said... line up line, precept up precept. You can do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength. Continue doing what you are doing because I can't see anything that you are doing wrong. You are such an inspiration to me because I don't do everything I'm suppose to. Don't let depression "weigh" you down!!! Shake the devil off!! - Love Gayzelle
Topic: RE: HELP: Too Many Carbs Intake
Marilyn I can't see anything you are doing wrong. Are you measuring yourself from your exercise? You have to realize that muscle is heavier than fat and if you are exercising 3x/week, you would be losing inches rather than weight. Start measuring yourself and this may ease some of your frustration. As for your eating regimen, I think you are doing great!! We have been instructed that we don't actually know how much of the protein we absorb through food so I still do protein drinks too because I KNOW if I drink 30 gms of protein, I'm absorbing 30 gms of protein. I'm really proud of you. You are doing an excellent job!! Keep up the good work. The other thing is that you are probably on a plateau. I've also read on the protein board that a lot of individuals who want to come off the plateau up their protein drinks (protein feast), by just doing protein drinks for 3-5 days and small amounts of protein (no carbs at all) and lots and lots of water. This helps break the plateau. Please let me know your results. - Gayzelle
Topic: RE: plastic surgery
I too am looking into having plastic surgery. I need my arms, thighs, butt, and boobs done. I most likely won't have all that done. But, it would be nice! I'm going to schedule a appt. with a Dr. Vogt here in Ohio. He specializes in Gastric Bypass patients. I've lost 135 lb. but, I still have 20 to go. I think most of it is skin! I'm really slowing down on losing now. I didn't even lose a pound last week! I've exercised (at Curves) since May of 2003 hoping to tone the skin but, it can only tone so much! So, this is the next step.
I wish you all the best of luck and keep us posted!

Topic: Hi Everyone.. and Update on my plateau and PS
First Happy Valentines day.
I went and was scoped by my surgeon last wednesday to see if i had stretched my stoma and ruined my surgery.. I'm happy to report that everything is fine and still looks good.. So that means im on a very long plateau.. :shrug I have to work harder.. I've upped my protein and lowered my carbs to try and jumpstart my losing again.
Plus i now have 2 hernias that will need to be repaired . I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon next Tuesday to schedule a Abdominoplasty/hernia repair.. I still have alot to lose, but maybe this will help me lose what i need to lose to get to my goal..
I'll keep everyone posted.. cya
