Stomach Cramps
Hi- Ilove this site- Don't usually post just enjoy reading. I had my surger on March 17, 2003 and as of today have lost 87. I am a slow loser- but that's ok- I only have 100 to lose.
I have a question- On Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 I ate some cabbage and chicken in the school cafeteria. Don't usually eat the food in the cafeteria, but had no lunch that day. About 15 min. after I ate I started feeling nauseated- but not like I had eaten to much. Later my stomach started cramping really bad- like I had mentrual cramps- ( I had a complete hysterectomy in 1993) I started the cold sweats then. I finally got home and got in the bed, but the cramping continued. To make a long story short- I ended up in the hospital. I got in such pain that I started hperventilating- my hands, legs and face went numb. I really thought I was going to die. My husband called 911- Of course I told them I was 8 months post op. They transported me to the hospital- they x-rayed, did an ultra sound on my gall bladder and found nothing. Has anyone ever experienced this? I called my surgeon - but he said there was really nothing he could do- to let my regular doctor handle everything. I stayed two nights in the hospital. After I got home I still cramped for about 3 days- was able to use the bathroom ok so I knew there was no blockage. My doctor said she did not think it was related to my surgery at all. She said it could have been gas from the cabbage. I just hope that is all it is. I just was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I don't ever remember being in this much pain!!
