Hi Everyone, I'm 7 months post-op (Slow Loser - Down Only 65lbs since WLS - 3/27/03 and overall 76lbs from highest). I use to be so irregular before my WLS but every since surgery I've had a cycle every month until this month. I've had my cycle 3 times during the last 5 weeks and now I'm a little worried. Truthfully, I did skip a few days with my birth control during the month but this should not have me this out of control. I'm justing getting use to having to take birth control because I've never had to take it during my almost 12 years of marriage. I could never get pregnant because of my weight and irregular periods because of the weight. But my primary care doctor thought it would best to put me on the pill because the more weight that I loose the more likelyhood that I could get pregnant. Well my question is, has anyone experienced anything like having three cycles in less than 5 weeks? if so, what did you do? Marilyn Lexington, KY

Marilyn, I know someone that is also 7 months Post-op like us and has the same problem. Please see your Gynecologist and tell him/her that this is happening. My friend has a fibroid tumor (benign) that caused her rapid cycles, but everyone is different. So please find out now why this is happening. Please let me know what happens. God bless...

My best advice is to consult your GYN. It could be a number of things causing this since everyone is not the same. Good luck to you hun!

You definately should talk to your gyn....I am pre op and having the same problem. Mine is due to no period in 2 years...was always told it was related to my thyroid. We store hormones in fat and when it leaves strange things happen. You should check with your gyn maybe he can put you on a stronger birth control pill with more hormones. Good luck!
