Hi all!!!! my name is Lori Durbin, I had lap rny on march 11 and have lost 72 pounds. I can't believe the difference. I can buy my clothes in the stores now instead of mail ordering. I went to the movies for the first time in many many years because the seats were too small, and I went on my first ever boat ride today. I walked right up the pier and stepped right into the boat. I wouldn't have even thought of trying that 2 months ago. I also got rid of the ugly brace I had to wear on my ankle. Next month I am going to mall of america on vacation. I can't wait. It will be the first vacation ever where I won't have to worry about being sick when I eat or not being able to walk. I am really looking forward to it. My friends all tell me that I smile all the time now and how much happier I am. I am so glad that I did this. It was the best thing I could ever have done for myself and my family. One of my close friends just told me how hard it was for them to watch me keep gaining weight and doing less and less. I didn't even realize how hard that was for them.

72 pounds,wow! I had rny on March 11th. I have lost 56 pounds. I know what you mean when you say you can do things you have never done before. Isn't this great? I live in Minneapolis and have been to the Mall of America serval times. It is huge. Be prepared to walk and walk. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. What a great way to get in some exercise!!!
72 pounds is awesome! I had surgery on March 24th and I'm down 48 pounds as of a week and a half ago. I don't weigh myself too often. I feel so much better and like you, I've had several people tell me I seem happier. I am! This is the best thing I've ever done. I went shopping for clothes on Saturday and enjoyed it for the first time in years. I could pick out things I liked instead of just anything that would fit and that I didn't completely hate. It was so much fun!
Hi: I am Laura Lee Ullrich. I had my open RNY on March 11,2003. I am down 47 # at my last weigh in. I don't weigh myself. I am not losing realy fast, but I have lost many inches (7 off of my bust alone!!!). I started a new walking program 4 weeks ago. I was in the Woman's Day magazine. I now walk 2-3 miles every day (five days a week) and that is really helping. I can eat anything and rarely have problems except dumping occasionally. I think I can eat too much food. I have always been able to eat quite a bit, but my doctor is not worried. I struggle to get in enough protein. It has helped me a great deal to log on to fitlife.com. You can list everything you have eaten that day and it tells you calories, protein and all nutrients. I also went clothes shopping last week end and bought three new outfits. I started at a size 26 and bought 18 and 20. I am anxious to buy clothes in any store and not in the plus size department. Lets keep in touch. I need inspiration as I have no support group where I live here in the boondocks of MOntana.
