HELP - I'm The Slowest Loser Ever To Have This Surgery
Hi Everyone. Sometimes I just can't believe how slow of an loser I am. What is my problem??? I had my Lap RNY on March 27, 2003 which was approximately 3 months ago and so far I've only lost 31.5lbs. I take my daily vitamins. I exercise 20 minutes in the morning, I do 100 crunchies and work out on my elliptical machine for 10 minutes (I'm Trying To Build Up To 20 minutes). I drink about 60-70 oz of water. My food intake consists of: 1 protein shake for breakfast, 1 salad with tuna for lunch or salmon and usually chicken or fish for dinner mostly baked. In the evenings I exercise another 10 minutes on my elliptical machine and then do another 100 crunchies. Please help....What am I doing wrong???? All suggestions are welcome.
Many Blessings,

Marilyn,
You did not say how much protein grams you are eating a day. My dr recomends 70 to 120 a day. I know its hard but when you up the protein it helps.
Also when you work out you bild lean muscle and sometimes you go down in inches when you dont lose. Are you losing inches maybe?
I hope this helps some. good luck to you.

hi marilyn----wow you are doing great on exercising, wish i could get the urge to do it myself!!! once you start losing and exercise alot you start making more mucles and muscles weigh more than fat does----so you might be losing inches instead of weight -----have you been measuring yourself, try it and you might be able to see the difference!!!!--i have also heard that if you get too much protein in your diet that you won't lose as fast!!! thankfully my doc doesn't suggest protein shakes so i don't do them i just eat & i have lost 88 lbs since 3/3/03----but everyone is different!!! hope this helps----mary taylor
Hi Marilyn
Hmmm...that is strange. In the am, try 4oz Orange Juice, mid morning 1 english muffin with 2 TBLS peanut butter and 1 tsp jelly, Lunch salad w/tuna, mid afternoon, 2 crakers and cheese, Dinner SOUP! Try just for fun... Soup sure help, why? I do not know. You could be retaining water!!!!! Ask the doc if you can try a water pill. I have a few times now. Had my surgery March 6th and am down 73 pounds. I am lacking in the protein, but so far so good. I do take 3 flinstone vitamins a day, Liquid calcuim and my B12/iron vitamin.
I feel wonderful. I have not done much in the exercise portion. Walk yes, but now I need to start something, I am going to check out Curves.
