Hi March Posties. I feel so discouraged. I had my surgery on March 10th. Thats about 76 days ago. I have only lost about 43 pounds. This is ridiculous. I am getting in my protein. I hardly eat carbs. I played 1 hour of tennis today and that was a big deal..I do hardcore exercise every day at the gym. I dont know what I am doing wrong. Do you guys think my stoma is dilated? I am so worried..help me...

Kris - Congratulations on your loss. I have lost 42 lbs since March 13, so we are right on the same page it would seem. Remember, everyone losses at their own pace. How many grams of protein and how many calories are you consuming? I understand the discouragement, but remember, this is not a race, and those of us who lose slower, may have less problems with excess skin later on. You just have to keep doing what you are doing and the weight will come off - as long as you stay on track. Have you spoken to your nutritionist? Gone over your daily regimen with them? This will allow them to trouble shoot and find any places that can cleaned up. But remember, you are right on track and I think there are more of us slower losers out here than we know. It's the fast losers that get all the attention, but us slow ones still make it. Take care. Toodles, Robin

Hi Robin, I suppose I could be considered a slow "loser" as well. I had open rny 3-18-03 and as of 5-18-03 I have lost 40 pounds. What I do know is that in all my many many years (30+) of dieting I have never lost this amount of weight in such a short period of time. Kris, we are all different and we all have varying factors which dictate our weight loss. I would suggest you not compare yourself to anyone else, make this journey your own, continue doing the "right" things and the weight will come off. When I think about how I use to eat compared to how I am eating now...the weight has to come off. Keep the faith and be good to yourself. Rhonda

Count me in as a slow loser . I had my surgery 3/17/03 and I am down 40 pounds as of yesterday . I was hoping it would come off faster. I am doing all my protien, drinks and I do water aerobics 6-8 times a week. I just added a fit swim to my program yesterday and will do that twice a week. I dont know what more I can do to get this weight off ..

Hi! My surgery date was March 10 too. As of today, I've only lost 50 pounds (well, 74 if you count what I lost before surgery). So you have been doing just great. How are things going for you now? I just recently found this page, so I'm a little behind in reading the posts.

Hello everyone, Boy do I feel much better after reading these posts. I had surgery on 3/18/03 and so for I have lost about 58lbs. I am having a hard time with the protein and water, but I do try my best. My scale has not moved in about 2 weeks and it is very discouraging, but as I said I feel better after reading the previous posts and I need to realize I need to be patient. I just want to be thin so bad that I weigh myself everyday! I am going to quit doing that, it only makes me feel bad. I have to say that I do feel good about my weight loss but I have never lost 100lbs before and that is my main goal. I hope that it will happen but I just want it to happen now!........
