HELLO...Had my surgery March 26,2003. I've only lost 45 lbs as of June 9 & was really feeling badly till I got on to this web site. I realize May was not such a good month for me ( eating wise) & I have to buckle down & get with the plan. My Doc has me returning in 2 wks instead of a month & has me on 600 calories of protein only with my gallon of water. My knee was hurt about 1 1/2 yrs ago & won't straighten out so I've had it exrayed & will go to my PCP next Monday so he can tell me what is wrong. Hopefully it is only in need of physical therapy. Then I can start exercising which I know will increase my weight loss. I am adding this part of obesity help to my favorites & will keep posted will everyones loss. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hi Everyone. Sometimes I just can't believe how slow of an loser I am. What is my problem??? I had my Lap RNY on March 27, 2003 which was approximately 3 months ago and so far I've only lost 31.5lbs. I take my daily vitamins. I exercise 20 minutes in the morning, I do 100 crunchies and work out on my elliptical machine for 10 minutes (I'm Trying To Build Up To 20 minutes). I drink about 60-70 oz of water. My food intake consists of: 1 protein shake for breakfast, 1 salad with tuna for lunch or salmon and usually chicken or fish for dinner mostly baked. In the evenings I exercise another 10 minutes on my elliptical machine and then do another 100 crunchies. Please help....What am I doing wrong???? All suggestions are welcome. Many Blessings, Marilyn Lexington, KY Post-Op 03/27/03

Hi!!!! My name is Lori Durbin. I had my lap rny on march 11th. I have lost 72 pounds as of last month. I too am only getting weighed once a month. I can't belive all the changes. I still can't even belive that I've had the surgery and have lost so much. I have gotten rid of the brace I had to wear on my foot. I've gone to the movies for the first time in many many years, and I went on my first ever boat ride today. I still can't belive I walked right up on the dock and stepped into the boat. I couldn't have done that 2 months ago. Next month I an going to mall of america on vacation. It will be the first time ever I have went on vacation without being sick shenever I eat anything and be able to walk. I am really looking forward to it. I guess I am rambling. I am just so excited. My friends tell me I smile all the time now and seem so much happier. This was the best thing I could ever have done for myself and my family. Please email me if anyone wishes. Lots of luck to you all. Lori.

I'm doing great. I am so happy I opted for WLS. I have been obese since puberty, so I'll be a "regular" size person for the first time in my life soon. To date, I have lost about 48lbs, about 2 or 3 dress sized and gained lots of energy. I am hoping to be under 200lbs by my birthday (7/25) since I haven't been under 200lbs since junior high school. I tend to have "streaky" weight loss, meaning I loose, plateau, loose, plateau, but it's all good. I've heard that means your skin is shrinking and I hope it's true. Life is better....heading to good.

Congratulations!!! I had my surgery on March 11th 2003 and it is the best thing I have EVER done. I know everyone says it's your "re-birthday" but I truely feel that way. I finely have a chance at being "Normal". I am down 56 lbs as of this morning. It is really great to see how everyone is doing. I was wondering how my weight loss was compaired to others. I know there is now average, but you still want to know how you compair. Those of you who are losing slower, I may slow down later while you speed up! We never know what will happen. As long as the weight keeps coming off, no matter at what rate, it is in the right direction! Keep up the good work and think positively!! God Bless
