Hi there Brenda, How cool to have a March 2002 surgery board post (I just found it). I had my surgery March 13, 2002 (same as Myra Koonz ~ Hi Myra). Life is definetly better, and the health has improved immensly. I started at 316#'s, and now am 148#'s less, weighing 168#'s. I'd like to lose about 18 more, but a plastic surgeon says it would come off with the surgeries I want (but can't afford). Well, if I only had 60K, I could get all the lifts and tucks I wanted, but for now, it's exercise, exercise, exercise, and wishing to win the lotto. Congratulations on your success!

I had my surgery on March 12, 2002. I have lost a total of 134 pounds and would love to lose about 15 more pounds. I am at a plateau. I know that walking and exercise will do the trick. I hardly drink water and I know tha****er will help a lot I am really trying to drink more water. I exercise and walk but not everyday. I intend not to let this weight creep back on me. When I see a weight gain, I will cut back drastically and sometimes I will fast for a few days. Jackie

I feel so blessed to have a life. I am a size 16 and was last this size in the 7th grade. I can't believe what it is like to just live. I work in healthcare and thought of all places people would be a little more sympathetic to the obese but now when I see obese people in waiting rooms or feeling uncomfortable in paper gowns that wouldn't hardly fit me and realize how much pain is associated with being obese. I am a joker by nature and was always good for a quick one-liner but taking time out to just talk with people not necessarily talking to them about WLS but just talking and listening with them. I have been blessed to feel an incredible sense of empathy and would like to encourage you where ever you are to share a smile, handshake, or a helping hand to someone who is probably in a lot of pain too.

I had my surgery 3/22/02. I have lost maybe a total of 10lbs in the last 3 months. That has been a struggle for me. It is frustrating because though I have lost 130lbs, I need to lose another 50. I keep telling myself I didn't put on all that weight In a year I can't expect it to fly off that fast either. I neeeeed to get on my treadmill again also. Keep up the good work. Sometimes I think we sit in the present and don't look at what we have already accomplished.

Connie, What a great story! You could enter the Gap without getting The Look! You know The Look: the up-and-down-not-missing-a-thing "your fat butt doesn't BELONG in here" look! At our local mall, to get to Lane Bryant from inside the mall, you have to walk all the way through The Limited to reach Lane's entrance. It'a a verrrry loooong walk! Here's hoping we can all just stop at The Limited soon and not go on to Lane's! Carolyn

Today I went to the mall specifically for tennis shoes. Well...I ended up at The Gap..trying on jeans. Size 4 regular was a fit. I didn't even have to lay down of the floor of the dressing room to get the zipper up ( I DO remember those days) But there was a gap at the waist in the back. I'm thinking that is where my butt would go, if I still had a butt. Sigh...I lost it along with the puppies..size 42DDD/E to my new kennel size today of 34B. I have not had any plastic surgery..I could use a puppy uplift but I'll be okay without it, I guess. I am 50 so some of that is gravity... I am 5ft 5, started at 255, now 133 in 17 months. By the way...guess I'll have to go back tomorrow, I forgot the shoes!

I had LAP RNY surgery on March 4, 2002, and I ahve lost 84 pounds. I would like to lose another 20, but I have not been doing as much exercise as I used to. The three of us should band together to meet our goals! Sounds like our old habits are coming back to haunt us!!

Hi! I am over a year post-op and I have lost 120 pounds so far! I still have more to lose but I think I've hit a plateau. It's depressing. I think i need to get back to the basics. Is anyone else feeling the same way? Jodi
