Just wanted to offer you congratulations and best wishes!!!
Hi I'm waiting for my surgery day which is February 25,2013, I've been reading alot of the blogs and messages, but I want in full details from the beginning to the end on what a person experiences before, during and after gastro bypass surgery. I've seen before and after picture and I'm amazed at the results. I want to share my experience with someone as well who is having surgery after me. To start off this is my second bariatric surgery. I have a lapband now, i'm having it remove for a couple of reasoning. 1. I have a hernia now. 2. Its a very slow process. 3. I spoke to my doctor whom is a very good doctor I must add. Dr. Wasser is great, and his staff is just as wonderful. But I was afraid to go through with gastro bypass at first. I wanted to see more success rating before I make up my mind. As I was going back every month for a band filling I had the opportunity to speak with some of the patients that had gone through it and they was doing well, and looking wonderful. So here I am. Yes, I had to go through the process of seeing every doctor again, and take every test all over. It took me another 3 months. I had to wait approval from my insurance. Tina you are the best, she got my approval in a week once all my doctor release me for surgery. once you are approved by everyone you will have pre-admisssion testing soon after your approval. pre-admission testing, question after question, blood work, ex-rays. My doctor already gave me my scripts for pain and meds to prevent infection. I received in advance a sheet on what kind of vitamins I will need and I puchase my protein drinks from my doctors office. I was well informed on my hospital stay what to expect from the time i'm in recovery to the time i'm in my room, and out the hos[pital. You will receive a do and dont sheet to follow, as well as what your intake should be for as water, protein, liquid diet etc. so please contact me back on your experiences while I share mine. My check in date will be the friday before surgery I will find out what time to arrive at the hosital Virtua Mememial in Mount Holly N.J. My hospital stay is schedule for 2 day so on wednesday I'll be home and hopeful I can check in and report.
I am having robotic lap Roux-En-Y on also on 2-27-13 I'm exciting and nervous all at the same time... Thoughts and prayers going out to everyone on this day that all the surgeries go great..
I am happy to say I am have been approved for my surgery and it is going to be on Feb. 27th.. I am so excited and yet nervous. On the full liquid diet I wish there was more you can choose from I am bored with cream of wheat cream soup sugar free jello popsicles and protein shakes.. Has anyone done anything different ?
So glad to hear it all went well. I am a week away and getting very excited. Congratulations for getting past the surgery and I wish you continued success on each new stage of your new life!
