It's fast approaching and I'm so nervous. Any other 20th RNY's?

Hi! I'm also having surgery on Monday (2/20). I'm having the RNY surgery. So exciting. Good luck with your surgery.

Don't be surprised if you feel a bit of buyer's remorse in the days after your surgery.  I had a bit even though everything went very smoothly and I had next to no pain. I didn't think I'd ever be able to manage all the details of the food, liquids, supplements, etc.   Also, you might have some crying too which is due to the anaesthetic mostly.  Every day gets a bit better and soon it will become a routine you'll be happy to be following as you see the weight drop.

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a smooth, comfortable recovery.

Hi,

Congrats on your recent surgeries!  Definitely take your time with fluids or whatever in the beginning.  My pouch can hold 4 oz total and if I drink more than that I get a message it's full.  I've been struggling a bit with dry mouth and I know it's because I'm not drinking enough; just trying to get in the necessary food and vitamins and stuff.  I bought some Biotene moisturizing mouthwash the other day and it does help for a short while.

Take care.  It does get a little easier every day.

Thank you, Susan.  I hadn't even thought of hormones playing a part.  It really does feel good to be relearning how to eat properly and taking time for exercise and fluids, etc.  A brand new start!

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a smooth, comfortable recovery.

Hi Everyone ;)

Wanted to see how everyone was feeling.  I am about to have my surgery on February 20th and getting so very nervous.  I had a lot  of problems with my insurance company, it was definitely an emotional roller coaster to get it approved.  My prayers are with all of you ;)  Please keep in touch!!
