Topic: February Surgery -- Hope you all are doing great!
Hi,
My anniversary - February 13th 2009.
Best day of my life. 3 years out and I am a RNY success story and I am so very thankful to have had my WLS. I have been enjoying life and off this website for far too long.
Just like to tell you all that it gets better and less confusing every month. Follow your rules from your Dr's as much as you can. Try (ha) not to get caught up with the scale too much or what others have been able to lose. There are frustrations, but just get moving and ENJOY your life. Every month that goes by will be easier.
So, February Peeps...Take care of you!!

Hi Everyone ;)
Hoping all are feeling well ;) I can't believe it is a week now that I have had it done. I was so sore my first couple days, really sore, but feeling so much better now. I have gotten used to the eating in Stage 1, now getting worried about Stage 2 lol. There is so much to learn and I don't want to fail at what I am doing. I see my Surgeon on March 1st and most likely will let me advance to the next stage. I bought yummy protein shakes from About Time.com. They have so many flavors to chose from. Just worried how to incorporate them with the other new things we are able to have. I know it is pureed things to eat, not sure if I am going to like my tunafish in a blender lol... I am open to any suggestions to what everyone is doing. Thanks so much ;) and plz keep in touch

Topic: RE: Having Lapband Surgery 2/29
Hello! I'm new here to. In fact this is my first post. My surgery is also the 29th. I think I've finally gotten over my nerves about surgery because of all the positive feedback I've received from family and friends. I'm doing the gastric bypass. I would be happy to chat with you if you want!
Topic: Having Lapband Surgery 2/29
I am new here. To be honest, things have actually moved so quickly that my head has been spinning. I had been going to my 6 mos. doctor followups (for insurance purposes) and the first week of February I contacted my Weight Loss center representative to ask if my insurance had approved the surgery. She said yes, and that is when we got to work scheduling the surgery.
I scheduled the surgery 2/10. Went on my liquid protein diet on 2/15 (started at 284 lbs.) and I am now about 8 days into the liquid protein diet and down to 275 lbs. It is amazing, but such a struggle. It is hard to try to stick to the protein shakes (Especially because I have little children and have to cook regular meals for them), but I think I am doing ok.
I have my surgery next week on the 29th and I am looking very much forward towards it, but again, I'm a little scared as it seems that everything been just fast, fast, fast.
I already did my pre-admission testing and now am sitting here waiting for Wednesday of next week to come.
I have read so much about the horror stories of the lapband that I'm freaking out (I guess its a psychological reaction to the anxiety caused by the thoughtt of surgery).
Anyways..I look forward to doing a before and after soon. I really want to succeed with the band.
