I hit my goal and want to make sure I keep the wt off.  I love being off most medications and feeling normal once again in so many ways.  Feb 24 will be a yr out.  I wish my hair would start  growing back thicker.

2013:  20 Funny New Year's Resolutions

When it comes to New Year's resolutions, our family members and friends can get quite creative and even funny with what they resolve to do in the New Year.  Here a few good ones I have heard along the way...Oh, and a few of my own!

1.  I resolve to stop procrastinating about procrastinating!

2.  I will stop sending Facebook messages and emails to my loved ones when they are in the same room as I am!

3.  I will use my treadmill for something other than a place to hang my jacket.

4.  I will not sit at the kitchen table in my PJ's all day.  Instead, I will move my computer to my bedroom.

5.  I vow to never take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night!

Sorry, just checking into this forum for the first time,  Had surgery on 2/23/12 and down 109 pounds from then (down 142 from my high weight).

best decision of my life...but know I need to keep up with psych recommendations on food 'thoughts' so I don't let old habits creep in.  Since vacation in September and holidays afterwards only losing about 4 pounds a month...but, still losing.  Love this website, keeps reminding me of the rules of WLS!

Here's to a great February anniversary to us all!

Hey all!!

Can you believe February is so not far away and soon we will celebrate our 1 year post op!

I've actually started my weight loss Journey on Jan 10, 2010 and have had VSG on Feb 14,2012.

I count my weight loss since Jan which my weight at that time was 333 lbs, this morning, i weighed in at 198 lbs!!

So that brings me down a total of 135 lbs loss and can hardly believe it!!

I still have a little way to go, but i am confident i will eventually get there.

I was exercising at least 30 mins a day 5 days a week but lately i've been slacking off and should get back up on the wagon!

I have also been tracking all my food in My Fitness Pal, every single day for over 240 days!! I believe that is what keeps me on track, as that is the only true way of knowing what goes in the mouth.

For people that struggle, and don't track their food, you probably don't realize how many calories you are taking in as it's so easy to assume, and sometimes even by tracking, i'm very surprised on how much calories a little portion of food can have.

I don't regret this for a minute and very happy with my decision as now.

Would love to hear other people updates!

Your doing GREAT!  I've noticed that I don't have the "full feeling / no hunger" that I had the first 6 1/2 months.  I know what you mean about it scares you as I thought the same and was hoping I might be one that would never have hunger for life.  Thus far as long as I eat solid protein (meat) in 2 ounces or less (all my pouch wants)  that I am doing okay as it curbs the hunger.   My body was doing well to eat twice a day so I was struggling getting in another meal with yogurt or a protein drink.

Now my body wants something about every 4 hours.  (Some say they eat every 2 hrs but I've just gone with my body signals at this point.)    I have to wake my pouch up with something light in the morning so it is usually yogurt or a protein drink.  I  have solid protein for lunch and dinner.   Usually two hours after dinner I have a protein hot chocolate or yogurt to get in more protein.  I've really been enjoying the new Dannon and Yoplait  low fat and low sugar Greek yogurts.

I get very few vegetables and fruit with my main meals so when my pouch can handle more will start adding more of them.   I love sweets but have had zero desire for them and hope I've weaned myself off them these past few months.  I did that with soda over five years ago and don't miss soda at all now.   I am terrified of gaining wt back so will have to be diligent and not waste my new WL tool.

I'm doing good also. No complications. Can pretty much eat anything.

For some reason, this week seems I don't get the full feeling eating the same amount of food as before. Starting to scare me actually.

I have way more appetite too, not necessarily a good thing either.

Overall, pretty happy with my decision to have the sleeve done. I've never been so close to onederland since i was prob a very small child so that is pretty exciting!

The only problem i have is actually mentaly, i have a hard time seeing the weight loss in myself unless i compare pictures.  When i look in the mirror, and compare myself with the amount of weight i've actually lost, i keep telling myself i've lost so much, but i still go Soooooooo much more to loose!
