VSG scheduled for February 8. Just found out yesterday and was wisked into the pre-op diet with no time for "last meal". Protein drink for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, 4 - 6 oz lean meat and all the non-starchy vegetable I want. Up to 3 snacks consisting of either 4 oz yogurt or 1 to 2 oz low fat cheese or 1 - 2 oz deli meat or a piece of fruit. Dr. wants to shrink the liver.

I'm Feb 22 and I feel VERY unprepared and nervous! My doc has done many surgeries but this is only his 4th with this new clinic...and the clinic seems to have no earthly idea what they are doing. I know people who had to take info classes and learn all about the surgery and life after. I was given a little bound info book that left me with even more questions than it had answered. Eek...I just hope everything goes okay and I can figure out what all I'm supposed to be doing after the surgery!
Best of luck everyone!!!

Hi everyone!
I am currently scheduled for Feb 6th! Was originally supposed to have it Jan 18th, but my TSH level was too high so they canceled it. Now TSH is normal, and surgery is scheduled as of today!
Congrats to all with Feb dates! It's going to be an awesome month!!

Hi all! I'm scheduled for my VSG on February 21 with Dr. Naresh Ahuja. I've been doing 2 protein shakes and 1 lean meal a day since the week before Christmas. I'm really excited to finally have a date and get on with my journey! Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend ;)

I think it's normal to be nervous, but you are ready, and you are going to be on the losers bench before you know it! Congratulations

I have 7 more days until my surgery! I'm excited that I've finally reached this point in my journey. It's been a LONG road. Fighting nervousness and anxiety every night though.

I'm scheduled for Feb 23 and also excited + nervous. I'm still waiting for insurance approval though.

So exciting to hear that we are (mostly) all chugging right along. Hopefully your apnea test will get rescheduled quickly since you already have a surgery date!
What are you doing to get ready for your post WLS life? Anything? Nothing?
I start my one week preop diet the middle of February, but right now I'm finding protein shakes I like, and working out a few times a week with some good cardio to get that heart ready to rock and roll after surgery. I'm tracking my diet, exercise, and water with a phone app, and reeeeaaallly trying to get in my water each day. :-) With that said, I have also gone to Red Robin and snarfed down a basket of fries with ranch, and considered what other "last meals" I think I "need". Haha. Clearly I have had plenty of them to last for a while! :-)
I met with a trainer at my gym (you know, which I just joined last week LOL!), who kinda went all "Jillian" on me, but I think she'll warm up when she sees that I am committed to making this a permanent change.
I don't know how to live, eat, exercise, dress like a skinny person, so I'm going to have a big learning curve this year!
I am so proud of us all for making this decision this year- here's hoping it's a positive experience for all of us next month!

Hi All,
Glad that you got this board started also. I just found out Friday that my insurance approved my VSG request and my surgery is scheduled for February 14th. The approval happened so fast and I really expected at least a 2 week wait - I am so happy, yet nervous, excited, etc, etc. Good luck to us all and best wishes for a speedy and problem free and pain free recovery! For the first time in many years I am looking forward to how I may look and what I may wear this summer also.
