My surgery is this Friday RNY.. I am excited, nervous and to be honest a little scared! I am a nurse and I hate being a patient!!! However I just want to get this started!! I am so ready for this new journey in my life!!!

Wow, that's pretty cool of you having family living here on the island. Such a small world isn't it?
I was feeling a bit down when I posted my message above and I'm told it's not unusual to cry at some point after general anaesthesic. A friend had a major crying jag once she got home from one of her surgeries (non-WLS). I'd never had that experience before but it happened after I got home and I got a little teary today, too.
Reality is different but it's good! One thing that surprised me though is not being able to drive. I suppose it has to do with the internal healing necessary and maybe if you're still on pain meds but it took me by surprise.
