February 29th (EEEK!)
Hardly seems like enough time has gone by but I've been working on this since July 27th...and here we are!
I go back and forth from eager to afraid, excited to apprehensive, and all points inbetween. It also doesn't help that I had panic attacks with an ankle surgery I had 10 years ago and I'm afraid they'll come back up. But no matter what, I know I'll be okay and I know I'm in good hands with my surgeon. And my husband has been so awesome and supportive.
To everyone else having surgery in the next couple weeks - Godspeed to you all!

Don't be surprised if you feel a bit of buyer's remorse in the days after your surgery. I had a bit even though everything went very smoothly and I had next to no pain. I didn't think I'd ever be able to manage all the details of the food, liquids, supplements, etc. Also, you might have some crying too which is due to the anaesthetic mostly. Every day gets a bit better and soon it will become a routine you'll be happy to be following as you see the weight drop.
Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a smooth, comfortable recovery.
