Congratulations to All with our February surgery dates  Just think, we will be looking really good for summer.  I always dreaded the summer, I love it because it is such a beautiful season.  Just never liked how I looked  2012 here we come.

 Hi All,
Glad that you got this board started also. I just found out Friday that my insurance approved my VSG request and my surgery is scheduled for February 14th. The approval happened so fast and I really expected at least a 2 week wait - I am so happy, yet nervous, excited, etc, etc. Good luck to us all and best wishes for a speedy and problem free and pain free recovery! For the first time in many years I am looking forward to how I may look and what I may wear this summer also.

I think I'm probably a little nervous too but mostly excited.  The nervousness will come up when I'm actually admitted to the hospital and there alone getting blood drawn or whatever before surgery.  That's what happened when I had my upper 'scope about a week ago.

May we all have uneventful surgeries and smooth, pain free recoveries.

I, too, have dreaded the summer because I'm always too hot.  I guess I won't believe I'll feel different until I see that I'm much slimmer and actually feeling more comfortable.  :)

So exciting to hear that we are (mostly) all chugging right along. Hopefully your apnea test will get rescheduled quickly since you already have a surgery date!

What are you doing to get ready for your post WLS life? Anything? Nothing?

I start my one week preop diet the middle of February, but right now I'm finding protein shakes I like, and working out a few times a week with some good cardio to get that heart ready to rock and roll after surgery. I'm tracking my diet, exercise, and water with a phone app, and reeeeaaallly trying to get in my water each day. :-) With that said, I have also gone to Red Robin and snarfed down a basket of fries with ranch, and considered what other "last meals" I think I "need". Haha. Clearly I have had plenty of them to last for a while! :-)

I met with a trainer at my gym (you know, which I just joined last week LOL!), who kinda went all "Jillian" on me, but I think she'll warm up when she sees that I am committed to making this a permanent change.

I don't know how to live, eat, exercise, dress like a skinny person, so I'm going to have a big learning curve this year!

I am so proud of us all for making this decision this year- here's hoping it's a positive experience for all of us next month!

Start Weight: 245 Removed my monthly totals, because for me, comparision is the thief of joy.
Dare to believe that this time will be different. You can succeed this time.
