That just proves that even when you think you have a bad story, there is someone worse off than you. I guess that's why people like soap opera's, reality shows and Country & Western Music.
Thanks for making me feel better!!!!

Oh how I can relate to this. I was scheduled for Feb 9, 2009. I got my surgerytime and then 2 hours later the nurse called and said i needed to have endoscopy and colonoscopy because of blood work. Long story short; had a stomach condition that was bleeding needed several argon plasma cauterizations. Next surgery date Dec 22, 2009 cancelled because hosital had not received written approval that it is a center of excellence from medicare. Now I am scheduled for Feb 1, 2010 I so understand how you are feeling. I too am tired of preparing myself for nothing. On the upside I have lost over 50 pounds.

=c) I'm so nervous that they'll get in there and determine that enough weight wasn't lost for my liver that they'll refuse to go through with it.
I'm envious of you that you only have to do the 4 day prior liquid diet. Did they give you any kind of weight goal prior?

I'm excited for you to have your sleeve. That would have been the first choice for both my husband and I but our insurance company doesn't cover it. It is a bummer that you have to travel half-way across the country but we think Dr. Trotter is worth it and the facility where he does his surgeries is wonderful. Will you have family members here with you?

I only have to do the liquid diet for 4 days prior to my surgery which is 2/1. I have lost weight since I started the process on my own but I did try a couple of days on the liquid diet to see how it was going to be and I did okay...
Good luck!

My sleeve is scheduled for the 8th of Feb. My surgeon told me to lose 10-15lbs before surgery, said a good liquid/protein diet would do it about 2 weeks before surgery. I've gone from 249 to 237...but in that time, I got a new scale that likes me better and I think it's actually 249 to 239. The liquid/protein diet hasn't started yet. That 10 lbs was actually me counting calories. I cooked my husband a thousand and one meal options about a week ago and froze everything.
The protein shakes will give me 30 grams of protein and 255 calories per meal.
How is everyone else doing?

Nature does her best to teach us. The more we overeat, the harder she makes it for us to get close to the table.

Howdy All,
I am scheduled for a VSG on Feb 10th. I am trying to lose the weight I gained over the holidays when I indulged in too many "Last Suppers". My surgery was originally supposed to be in early December but due to financial reasons I had to postpone till Feb. I went into a bit of a depression over it but now that the surgey is close I am feeling renewed. Focusing on what I will be eating post-op and getting that together is helping me feel better to the point that my nervousness is to turning to excitement. Of course, I am still plenty anxious. This is the first time that I have had surgery and stayed in a hospital.
It is so helpful to have these wonderful forums that I find so supportive and informative.
Well, January is half over already. We'll be on the losers' bench in no time.
