Is it Feb 16th already? I feel like I've been thinking about this surgery forever! I am ready to go! LOL! Best of luck on everyone's surgery. We will be on the loser's bench in two weeks. I can't wait for the journey to start.
Topic: RE: So how have you prepared for your surgery?
Hey our surgery is the same day!! I have bought sf popsicles, protein shakes, and various other things. I got my itouch ready with movies and music, mixer and soy milk ( absolutely love it and it does not irritate my stomach like regular milk does). Good luck to you

Hi,
I am having surgery on the 16th as well and nervous too. I am drinking high protein shakes up until the day. My doctor is sending me to get a certain shake that is supposed to shrink my liver. Another person said that their doctor said to lose 10 pds any way she can by surgery. So eirther way will work. When looking for shakes just look for protein powder, something tasty with high protein and low carbs. As far the vitimins, my list says;
Folic acid 400mcg/day
Iron 66 mg of elemental iron'
Calcium 1000 mg/day
Vitamin B-12 sublingual tab ( for under the tounge)
A Suggestion;
3 Flinstones Complete chewable vits 3x a day
2 Viactiv 500mg sublingual 2xs week
and your protein shakes.
(you can really get good ideas for shakes on-line)
Good luck and I will be thinking about you on the 16th!

Topic: February 8th - RNY
February 8th is my surgery date...have been on pre-op diet for a little over a week now and already down 9 pounds. Still in the nervous phase where I can't quite believe it's happening as it's been such a long journey. Still need to go shopping for the "hospital" items and get them packed...maybe then it will finally set in and the excitement can begin!
Does anyone know if you're supposed to start your protein supplements right away once home from the hospital? Has anyone found any suppliers that sell sample sizes? Don't want to have to buy those big, huge bottles of it if I can't tolerate it later.
Good luck to all my February peeps!!!

Topic: RE: Tomorrow's the day!!
good luck ;)
don't pack too much.. if you can just bring whatever clothes you will wear tomorrow and plan on wearing those when you check out. (very comfy and easy to put on)
I'd pack the following:
underwear
deodorant
brush
your special pillow (if you use one)
chapstick
slippers
a nice comfy robe

Topic: 2 weeks out and not prepared...
My RNY is scheduled for Feb 16 and up til now I have been super prepared. I researched all I can and felt totally prepared. Now that the time is closing in I am stressing about what I need to buy now. I know I need calcium and flitstone vitamins for right after. I went to buy the calcium and there were so many choices my head was spinning. I feel that same way about the protein shakes. I do not eat much meat so I know I need to get some protein in before and after another way. I have no clue what type of shakes to buy or try and I see people chat about protein powder?? Please any help would be appreciated.
