Actually, just to hazard a guess, but it sounds like you actually need some more calories. You are burning so many during your workout, but doesn't sound like you are taking in that much. Perhaps your metabolism is shutting down. Try adding a couple of healthy snacks (particularly after working out) like string cheese or some fruit. It sounds like you are doing great getting your protein, but your body does need a little bit of carbs to stoke the metabolism fires. Some low glycemic fruit (like strawberries) might do the trick.

Hope that helps!

I had gastric bypass feb 15th.  I haven't posted before.  I have lost 57 lbs.  I use the eliptical and treadmill 5 times a week.  I burn 500-600 calories at workouts.  I don't know why I am losing so slow.  I really haven't been to discouraged until I started reading posts.  I use the protein shakes for 2 meals and a snack and then I have 1 small meal a day.  Usuallly chicken or sometimes beef.  I don't eat many vegs as it is to much food for 1 meal.  Any suggestions?

You don't have to be a cook to use the crock pot it's very simple!

You can mix any meat in any sauce pretty much measurements aren't that important as long as the meat is covered in a liquid of  some form.

Some of my favorites:

Chicken breast, black beans salsa
Chicken breast spaghetti sauce mushrooms
chicken breast tgif spinach articoke dip (frozen section)
chicken breast cream chicken soup, onion soup mix, grean beans

Hi Alice,

I had surgery on 2/23/10.  You mention that you make stuff in the crock pot.  What kind of receipes?  I would like to start doing this, but am not a cook at all.

My surgery date was also Feb 23, 2010.  I had RNY.  As of this week, I am down 76lbs.  There was a point about a month ago where I stalled for a couple weeks.  I really need to get my butt in gear though and do some exercise.  I am extremely happy that I had the surgery.  I was miserable before.  Now I am just having a hard time getting down all my water each day.  And I don't have a very wide variety of food selections to choose from either, so paranoid about sugar and dumping.  Don't want to experience that.  Anyone out there with some quick and easy meals that we can eat, please let me know.
Take care.

hello all! I am here and all is well! I'm 3.5 months out now and doing great... 78 pounds lost and ALMOST to 'one'derland! I eat pretty much the same thing everyday but its by choice not because im having issues with other things. i REALLY love lettuce wraps (lettuce with turkey and cheese rolled in it). I had tried to stop my protein shakes but my weight loss slowed so this week ive gone back to 2 protein shakes a day in addition to lunch and dinner and ive done great... lost a pound a day this week.

hi there, just wanted to say congrats on your weight loss... sorry i have no advice about the eating... except maybe its too soon to go off protein shakes completely. As soon as i was on "regular foods" i tried to quit the shakes... but my weight loss actually slowed down. this week ive started drinking two shakes a day again, in addition to two food meals.. and ive lost a pound a day! so, maybe its just something to think about.

I'm actually going through a similar situation right now.  I usually don't come on every month but for the past 2 months I've come on with no end in sight.  I went to the doctors last month and she gave me megace which made me feel like I was losing my mind.  I took those for about 15 days and stopped........2 weeks later I'm bleeding like a wounded elephant once again.  I went to another gyn on Wednesday and she thinks I may have fibroids.  I'm going to get an ultrasound today so hopefully there will be an end to this never ending bleeding that I'm having.

I hope that you get a resolution to your situation soon.
