Topic: RE: Home and 3 days out, question???
My surgeon wants us to concentrate on our protein shakes while working on water. Remember the shakes are usually made with water so your are doing double duty. We have to have 6 scopes of shake a day. Im only 4 days out and had a 4 hour surgery. I was let out of the hospital Wed morning. They started us on the protein shakes right away also. My energy level is doing pretty good and hardly taking any pain meds. We use the metagenics bariatic essentials meal replacement powder. My surgeon said the 37 lbs I lost before surgery made my liver shrink alot. He had trouble cause I maxed out the lenght of his laproscopic tools. I'd make sure you are mixing your protein shakes with water then you are doing double duty.

Topic: Home and 3 days out, question???
I am at home and feeling better everyday but I am sooo weak. I am struggling to get even the water in. My goal is 3 water bottles a day but honestly if I get 2 in I am happy. I am down 14 lbs which of course I am happy about but also slightly concerned. What are you guys drinking daily? Jus****er or are you doing protein shakes or what?
Topic: Ten days out
I have had a pretty good ten days. I am getting a bit bored with this baby food type diet tho. On Tues I start the stage three diet..I am so very nervous about eating more solid food. Afraid I will tear something loose or break something..don't know. Friends who have had this done say its a very smooth process but I can't help that I will eat the wrong thing.
Something else I have recently heard that I am concerned about...I was told that once I start eating solid food I will throw up. There is no getting around it. I will over eat for the first week or so every meal while I learn how much my pouch will hold. OMG, is this true? I hate to throw up.ha
Thanks,
MA

Topic: new to the Feb board- 2 weeks post op
Hi everyone, I had my surgery on the 4th. Everything went well and I am over 2 weeks out.
The first few days home were rough, I had sme major head hunger nad really fely like I was starving! But I am getting my protein and and drinking my fluids, learning what I can eat, and doing well.
Today I was down a total of 15 pounds since surgery. I keep thinking that I am going to mess my pouch up and then stope losing! It is unreal to have lost so much in such a short time.
So my question for everyone else (around 2 wweks out) -What are you eating? and how much?
