Welcome home. I had issues with the IV fluids too.  I was so swallon when I got home from all those fluids.  It is going down but still the  last thing you want to do is have WLS and GAIN Weight.

Welcome home

Topic: RE: Home and 3 days out, question???
I am on clear liquids, i.e broth jello and liquids which all count toward your total fluid consumed for the day.  I was told to hit the 64 oz mark from day one, which I have yet to do.  I am generally a chugger of liquids so I would chug a bottle of water in minutes and be done with it but now I can not do that.  Although I have taken a few sips that I thought were to big after the fact and nothing happened.

I am allowed to start my multivitamin and protein shakes on Monday and I am looking forward to the protein shakes that is for sure.  Hopefully with 3 shakes a day I will better be able to hit my 64 OZ water goal a day.

Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the losers bench.

Congrats on your surgery and welcome home.  I made it home on Friday and am still moving slowly, having a hard time sleeping or getting comfortable.  I get to advance my diet after my follow-up appt on Wednesday. Welcome to the loser's bench

I'm four days postop and still in the hospital but was told not to try proein until I've been home 4-5 days. But that's only to ensure my tummy can take it. I haven't had a bm yet so that cld be part of her thinking for me on that. But double ditto onthe the fluids. Being dehydrated is not where anyone wants to be. God bless.

Do you mean you have the runs or have to pee (there is never tmi on this site ? I have to do neither. I wish I could pass more gas. Good luck with that. Make sure you are not losing too many fluids either way.

Just a brief note. My doc said my surgery went fine I just had a couple of days od migraines for some reason. Anyone else get that? Besides my head, only thing that hurts is the gas and that comes and goes. Ill be delighted to get home later today to get some sleep! Night all.

Gas has been a problem for me, but it hasn't been so bad that it has kept me close to the bathroom.  I am sure things will get better!

Keep up the good work!  I have lost about 15 pounds too.  The scale hasn't budged for days, but my clothes are fitting better and better all the time.  Have you started eating new stuff yet?

I am almost three weeks out and have been trying some new things.  I haven't thrown up yet.  I eat about half of what I think I should be able to and then wait for a min. or two to see how it goes before I eat more.  I am too scared to throw up :)
