Ten days out

I have had a pretty good ten days.  I am getting a bit bored with this baby food type diet tho.  On Tues I start the stage three diet..I am so very nervous about eating more solid food.  Afraid I will tear something loose or break something..don't know.  Friends who have had this done say its a very smooth process but I can't help that I will eat the wrong thing.

Something else I have recently heard that I am concerned about...I was told that once I start eating solid food I will throw up.  There is no getting around it.  I will over eat for the first week or so every meal while I learn how much my pouch will hold.  OMG, is this true?  I hate to throw up.ha

Thanks,
MA

My wife is 5 and a half weeks out from lap rny and Im just 4 days out.  She has been throwing up some as she tries new foods or even her vitamins.  She says it is totaly different throwing up with a pouch compared to before surgery with the stomach acid.  It makes her feal better if it isnt agreeing with her pouch.  I suggest measuring out your food and also try only one food at a time to make sure you can handle it.  We are on protein meal replacement for a whole month then oked to go back onto normal after that.  She has found out that she really likes egg salad made with light mayo.  She eats around 2 oz of egg salad which is roughly a quarter cup of food.

Measure, Measure, Measure....eat slow, chew a lot.  Those should ease a lot of the throwing up. :)

I am almost three weeks out and have been trying some new things.  I haven't thrown up yet.  I eat about half of what I think I should be able to and then wait for a min. or two to see how it goes before I eat more.  I am too scared to throw up :)

I am a little over two weeks out now.  I met with surgeon the other day and he said I can eat solid foods, just take it slow to "test the waters".  I can only eat a very small amount but I have not had any issues.  I guess this shows my "daredevil" side, but I tried salad yesterday and I did great.  I wish you luck in that you also have success with solid food.
