Introduction.
Hey all. I am mellyw and I am having surgery on the 17th like most of you-( yeah us!). This has been a long time coming as I having been working on this since 2001 and seriously over the last 4 years. I had to change surgeons which I am extremely happy about because my last surgeon and the one I have now are like night and day. I am not nervous but I'm not super excited yet either.
You see, with my last surgeon my surgery was cancelled twice just hours before surgery. The first time it was for a pretty legit reason but the second time the Dr's. reason seemed a little iffy and it didn't help that just hours later he was away on vacation.
Said all that to say that I'm a little gun shy -people. But my current very kind comptetant and patient surgeon said that he reviews everything way ahead of time (like 2 weeks before at our final pre-op appt)so there are few surprises and that he wouldn;t cancel surgery for something like a little anemia ( and the previous doctor did say I was "a little anemic" as he packed his bags for vacation).
So forgive me if I sound a little negative but I want to be as honest as I can because someone might be in the same boat as I was and am. WHew! So here we all go . . . .
