So I am finally home from surgery. I was getting pretty antsy at the hospital and am so happy to be home. The surgery went pretty much as I expected. The pain was not too bad, especially with the pain meds. I am having a hard time getting liquids down, but I am trying. Other than that, I am having some gas pains and soreness.

I am so glad that it is over with and I can't wait to start living my healthier life

I am glad you are home and feeling better. I had RNY on 2/9 and was home on 2/10. My soreness has really decreased. I have a bit of a headache today. I'm hoping it is all the drugs getting flushed from my system. I'm really looking forward to Monday and having my drain removed!

Wow... that's great that you got to go home so soon. I would have rested so much better at home. My soreness has decreased too... I am not on any pain meds anymore. Good luck with getting your drain removed... I'm sure it will make you feel so much better :)

WOW congrats, you are doing amazing.

I had my surgery one day past you...the 9th. I am keeping my fluids down great...no problems whatsoever with that :) I am still on a clear fluid diet, ugh....so I ge****er, crystal light, broth, and Jello of course. Cant wait to start full fluids on the 23rd or so.

My pain is still pretty lousy though, I went grocery shopping today...and did so slowly...Im still taking tylenol 3s and have a fair bit of general pain (not much gas pain though)......SOOO waiting for the pain to pass...sleeping is still a pain in the butt.

Where you guys got your surgeries, what are your post op eating plans like for the first month?

Hi there. Congratulations on your surgery as well. I'm having surgery on the 17th and I am concerned with getting comfortable. Could you elaborate on why sleeping is such a pain and do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much.

I began protein drinks today. I have my follow up appt on the 17th and we will discuss my diet then. But if all goes well, I should be on pureed foods, cottage cheese, eggs, tuna...

@ChargerChick17 - How are you doing with your shakes? Have you been able to mix with skim milk or water? I rather enjoyed by shakes with non fat milk. I start mine tomorrow! I am so excited. Clear liquids for 10 days has been rough.

Congrats and wish you continued health in your recovery process. Someone below mentioned issues with sleeping. I assumed that she meant she was uncomfortable. How has it been with you?

I am very uncomfortable trying to sleep. I am a side sleeper and finding it EXTREMELY difficult. Im sure in a cpl days it will be a breeze though. Optimistic one I am!
