Look how much smaller a 14M is vs a 28W. Build has a lot to do with size. I'm still overweight but I've always been 'compact' or my weight. At 5'4", I wore 18w/16w at 250 lbs. That's why I'm in the single digits now. You've done really well over the year. Take credit for all of your hard work.
I'm still a slow looser but this has worked for me. Watch the ratio of carbs to total calories. I hold carbs to 20% for weight loss and aim to double my minimum protein needs (weight devided by 2.2 equal daily protein requirement in grams). Its a combo of my surgeon's plan and what I've learned on body building sites to loose weight while preserving muscle.
I'll never loose at the rate you're looking for so I won't gaurantee fast results. However, having lost 85 lbs or so my lean mass remains within five pounds or so of my pre op lean mass.
Thats important metabolically. The more muscle you preserve, the better you burn calories.

Your friend or new friend,

Hit my 1 year anniversary on Feb 19th, 2010.
Missed my personal goal by only 5 lbs. but I am amazed at my success and health after just 1 year.
My size 38 waist jeans are getting loose.
My 1 year blood test results are great.
I've kept alot of hard earned muscle by keeping my protein up.
I love my new lifestyle.
Good Luck to all the Feb 09'ers
See ya..
I have about 60 lbs to go to get to my goal and I hope to do that in 6 months!
Hope everyone else is doing well!!
