Glad to hear that you are doing well! I was worried for you there for a while! Your weight loss is impressive, and you amaze me at how no matter what you are going through you are always positive! Congratulations on a great month!

Topic: Two-Week Post-Op visit!
So this morning was my two-week check-up and things went great! I am down another 11 pounds this week  which leaves me down a total of 40 pounds  since I started the pre-op weight (4weeks)! I feel absolutely wonderful, well except for the cold I have . Besides being sick I am really feeling better than I have in years! I am starting to really see a difference in the mirror and in my clothes, which is becoming a great motivator for me . I am doing great with food, I have been eating fish, cheese, eggs, and re-fried beans which have all gone down well. I get to start on Chicken as of today so I am totally stoked about that!  I also got the staples out of my incisions today, which feels awesome! They were really becoming a nuisance! Over all I am completely satisfied with my progress and am SO excited for my husband to see me in September (he is in Iraq), I am going to be a whole new person!  And I am totally with you guys who said you can't wait to see your own before and after photos! We will all be there soon!! Thank you all again for the support and encouragement, you have all been invaluable to my success!!

Doesn't the loser's bench feel GREAT?

Hey all Feb buddies,

I am feeling so much better now that I can sleep on my side and not always on my back!!  As far as eating, thats going well too.  I love fish and chicken the most.

Steph,

Make sure your tilapia is kept moist and don't overcook it.  I'm actually eating tilapia right now!  Just put it in a small saucepan with 1/4 c water, 1t butter and seasonings. Cover and cook on high-med high for about 4-5 min.  Comes out moist and flavorful!!

I'm also doing great - I've been back at work for over a week (though I worked from home starting the first week after surgery).  I've resumed my workouts (and learned that 20 minutes on the bike is all I can do - the weigh lifting will have to wait a bit).

Had my first eating issue last night; tried tialpia with some brocoli and corn...didn't sit well and I had to throw out my breakfast after one bite (and thought I was going to barf up that bite).  I wonder if the fish was too dry?  I've got a bit of pain in my stomach but I'm getting water in and out so not too worried.

I've lost 60 pounds since this started (40 before surgery) so am starting to enjoy wearing smaller clothes.  I also was able to wear a lovely amber ring that I haven't been able to wear for years...bit of a "wow" moment :)

It's great you are feeling good.  I am acually feeling pretty good myself. I still have the wound and the visiting nurses still come, but otherwise feel good.  I went to my diabetic doc today and they did a blood test. My A1C that was 12.3 last Aug, 7.1 in Jan, is now 5.83  which is normal!  They are going to wean me off the last of the insulin I am taking . Can't wait for warmer weather to get out and walk.

I don't think I have been getting enough fluids.  They have me on 6 protein "meals"  and if you don't drink 30 before and after it is hard to get it in.

I am going to try one other thing today.  I have been taken my Calcium by crushing and it is awful.  I'm going to skip it today and see if it is what is upsetting the tummy.

I don't know the exact reason but that has happened to me a few times as well.  The only thing you can basically do is let is pass. I have gotten sick and I have layed down and it takes till the next day to feel better. Also make sure you have enough fluids in you. I keep a bottle of water next to me at all times. I hope you feel better soon.
