The CRYSTAL LIGHT, which I drank by the gallons pre-op, just won't work with me right now. I'm having a hard time finding a substitute, sojust hanging in with water.  Splenda seems okay for me, as I put it on my cream of wheat without worries.  BUT I MISS MY CRYSTAL LIGHT!

I'm with ya! I've tried tuna now, twice, with full fat mayo. I'm not sure if it was the fat in the mayo, or just the tuna, but it made me feel horrible. Like a little tuna brick sitting in my pouch.
I got brave and tried Salmon tonight...and YES! No problems!
I love seafood, and we crab and fish all summer, so I'm slowly going through the list to see what I can tolerate.

We will get there....just like introducing new foods to a baby...

Good luck!

I had my surgery on 2/2/09.  I did liquid for one week, pureed for week two, less pureed for week three and this week I get to have seafood and soft cooked veggies.  It is crazy- I had mashed pototoes for lunch- you would think after eating them for an entire week you would get tired of them- I found them comforting.  At my two week appointment I had lost 15lbs.  I haven't bought a scale so I won't get discouraged when I stall.  Tomorrow is my 4 week appointment- I am just hoping for another 4 lbs.  I am keeping calories under 900, protein 80-100gms and now I have to keep my carbs under 40gms.  Won't be getting to many more mashed potatoes!

I would think pepperonis are not good at any stage of our 'diets'.  Too much bad fats, too high calorie,  I hope I can stay away from those indefinately.

I am so glad everyone is doing so well!!  As for getting out of bed I had no problems or pain since the day I came home.  I was able to sleep on my side, like I always do.

I went to the doc today and was weighed.  My weight loss has been slow, compared to some of you, but in the month since surgery, I lost 20 lbs!  I am happy with that.  I hope I can lose 20 lbs each month for at least several more months.  I am feeling great, but occasionally become very tired mid-day.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I am glad to hear that you are feeling better! I guess my surgeon advances the diet much faster than everyone elses! Two weeks out and I am already eating fish, eggs, and chicken! I guess that isn't the norm though!

Steph how long before you could sleep on your side?  I spent the first three days waking every 2 hours and haveing to get up and walk.  That was as long as I could sleep in one spot with out moving.  I was able to sleep 4 hours in a row last night.  I could at least lean to one side.
