When I started this journey, I was at my max weight that being 462 pounds. I had a hard time walking, getting comfy was difficault, I was always winded, barely mobile.  As of this AM I am officially out of the 400 zone FOREVER!!!!! This was my very first goal. Boy o Boy do I feel great already. Yes I still have along journey in front of me, I'll take er on like a champ. Thought i would share the fact that I have met my first goal.

when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I'm with you, I love V-8 as well. I get the low sodium version.   I'm trying something a bit different with it for tomorrow. I've added two small cans to a can of diced Italian seasoned tomatoes, and then plopping a roast on top of it, crusted Italian seasonings, into my crock pot.  It just sounded good, but we'll see.

I hear the V-8 Splash is good too, especially mixing with protein powder!

Topic: RE: One month post opers--how much are you eating?
I'm usually drinking about 8 oz. protein shake for breakfast, that includes 1/2 a banana. Other than that, I can get in about 4 oz. of cream of wheat, or one egg.

Tonight seemed like a lot. I had 1 oz. of lean turkey (shaved lunch meat style) with 3/4 oz. of low fat swiss cheese rolled together. I could only eat about 1/2 of it.  I am finding it really varies, how much I can eat, on what the food is.  I have  had a meal that was 2 oz. salmon and 1 oz. crab meat, then full.  I haven't even started on veggies or fruits,  much less crackers.

I have to eat slow to fill the fullness, and am getting pretty good at stopping just before that feeling.
It's going to take us all some time.....

good luck- and you are not abnormal...lol

Hi again!

Not sure if it's doctor recommended... but what worked for me during the beginning was taking a 12-16 oz bottle of water, and adding just A LITTLE BIT (like 1/8 or 1/10 of bottle) of no sugar added cranberry juice.

The thing is, it has to stay cold to taste good.  It's gets kind of funky when it gets warm.

These days I mostly just drink water... and a cup or two of coffee in the morning.

That's another thing, I was able to drink a very small amount of coffee, like 2-4 ounces with a dash of sugar free vanilla creamer starting the 3rd or 4th week.

Prior to surgery I used to drink 6-8 cups of coffee a day : (

They don't use sorbitol or splenda in the sugar free Nestle Coffee Mate creamers... they use "Maltodextrine" which I believe is a "sugar alcohol."

Unfortunately, I think it does have a fair share of chemicals in the product, but I've never had problems with it.  But you should probably test it a little at a time.

Hope this helps.

It's good to have all this feedback. Thanks guys. Oh, and I had Tilapia tonight too. It was AWESOME! But yes, my meals tend to be 2 oz protein, a few bites of a side like veggie or potato and that is about it.

Thanks!

Denise

Tonight, I made Talapia with a low fat saltine crushed up with Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and greek seasoning for breading, the whole meal was awesome! Of course My nut said to make sure I eat mostly protein, then move to the veggie, then starch, if I can. Tonight I ate about 4 oz all together, and I had to stop myself after a few green beans. So, normally I stop at 3 or 4 oz, and I am done. That is about where I should be, my nut says that I was to work up to a whole cup!!! I am wondering how in the world could I eat that much!

Congratulations on the weight loss. Hope you will be feeling better. Definitely get your rest when you need it. Some days are better than others so rest while you can and walk when you can and it will get better day after day. Wish you the best.
