Here's a recipe using the noodles:
Lean & Mein | ||
Everyone loves lo mein. How can you not? It's basically Asian "spaghetti" packed with all kinds of deliciousness. But who on Earth wants to deal with the horrendous calorie and fat counts of regular old lo mein? CRAZY PEOPLE, that's who. Don't be crazy -- or LAZY. Head to the kitchen and whip up some So Low Mein w/Chicken. BTW, this recipe also rocks with soy "chicken" strips, lean beef, pork tenderloin, shrimp, and tofu. Wok on, people! Ingredients: 3 bags House Foods Tofu Shirataki, original spaghetti shape One 10 - 16 oz. bag frozen Chinese-style stir-fry mixed veggies (with broccoli, water chestnuts, etc.) 8 oz. raw boneless skinless lean chicken breast; cut into strips 1 cup bean sprouts 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms 1/2 cup thinly sliced zucchini 1/2 cup chopped scallions 1/4 cup shredded carrots 1/4 cup reduced sodium or light soy sauce 1 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tsp. chicken-flavored powdered consommé/bouillon (like the one by Osem, which can be found with the kosher items at the supermarket) 2 no-calorie sweetener packets (like Splenda) Directions: Rinse and drain Tofu Shirataki noodles VERY well. Dry them thoroughly, and run a knife or kitchen shears through 'em a few times (so noodles aren't as long). Set aside. To make sauce, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, consommé/bouillon, and sweetener with 1/2 cup of ho****er. Stir well and set aside. Bring a large pan or a wok sprayed with nonstick spray to medium-high heat. Add chicken and all the veggies (the frozen and the fresh ones). Stirring frequently, cook for 5 - 7 minutes ****il chicken is cooked throughout and frozen veggies are heated). Pour sauce into pan/wok, stir well, and continue to coo****il sauce has thickened. Lastly, add in the noodles, and coo****il entire dish is thoroughly mixed and heated. MAKES 4 SERVINGS |

Well, this is my first time on the site. You all are aewsome. I am shy a few days from one month but have only lost 13 lbs. I am having still 3 shakes a day with the semi soft food. I am worried why is it so slow... I alkso go on the eliptical 2-3 times a week. Feeling a little disappointed, Lisa

I think you are right on track. I've lost about 28 pounds in one month. I expect it will slow down even more but as long as I'm moving down and not up I will be happy. Hang in there.

Since my 2 week pre-op diet i am down 38 pounds. I lost around 10 during the pre-op stage. My weight loss has come to a halt but I am starting my period so hopefully it will pick up again in the next week. The good news is that I'm actually having a period 28 days after my last one. I usually only have them every 4 months. Plus I did not gain any weight during PMS. I use to gain 8 to 10 pounds the week before my period. Also, I use to have little tiny bumps on my upper arms and they are now gone. Crazy! My husband pointed that out about a week ago.
Another small victory is that I now fit into my size 18 jeans....woo hoo! I pulled out a pair that looked brand spankin' new from a few years ago and hey fit perfect. I can't wait to pull out the 16s.

I am down 30 since surgery, 35 since pre-op appointment. I AM OUT OF THE 300'S ! Shhh...I don't want to jinx it.
I have had a hard time with my protein as well, however I'm on soft regular foods now, so that helps. SALMON HAS BEEN A PROTEIN LIFE SAVER.
I am also using WHEY Protein Powder every other day in a smoothie, so my protein runs anywhere from 40 to 73 g. per day.
All docs and Nuts have different guidelines. I'm supposted to be shooting for 40 to 60....so just doing my best.
The Grape Frost ISOPURE water is a good idea....you can sip on it throughout the day, and it is 40 g. of protein. Just don't drink it all at once, as we can only metabolize about 30 g. of protein in a meal.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! WE TOTALLY ROCK!

I am down 31 lbs sense 1 week prior to surgery. I am not getting in enough protein either, but I am trying, I need to find more variety, the nectar is good, but gets boring. I am getting in my water, so that is good.
