So far so good. I'm feeling almost back to normal and trying new foods every day to see how I tolerate them. Last night I had baked chicken and did not puree it. I was fine. It was nice to sit and eat almost the same meal as my family instead of picking and choosing certain items to throw in the food processor. My incisions are healing nicely and am cleared to swim...yeah!  I have increased my muscle weight by 2 pounds but get this....drum roll please.....I am down 36 pounds since surgery and 41 since my pre op diet! Woo hoo! It feels FANTASTIC. I also started my period 28 days after my last freak cycle that showed right before surgery. I have not had a normal 28 day cycle in 10 years or more. It's like I'm going through puberty again, lol. I had tiny little bumps on my upper arms the past 5 years, they are now gone. My husband noticed that a week or so ago. It's amazing what hormones will do for you. Just thought I would share my progress.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!

As for me, I have been having issues.....just a lot of head hunger.  I havent slipped since the pepperoni incident.  (probably wont)

Lately I have yet again been having problems with protein drinks.  GRRR... This is so annoying.

I switched to slimfast because everything was making me sick.  Well...now the slimfast makes me !!  great huh?!?!  So today I decided to try to get myself on a schedule.  I got up at 5 am.  So far this is what I have eaten/drank.

2 eggs w/ cheese
32 oz water
hormel chili w/turkey 1/2 cup
soymilk 8ozs

protein=31g             fluids=40ozs

Im going to eat a 3.5 oz chicken breast for dinner...25g protein
snack later 8oz of soymilk--8g protein 8oz fluids

then of course another 20ozs of water.

WISH ME LUCK!!

Hey Jennifer,

I've had that twice now. There is definitely no mistaking what foamies are.  I think I didn't chew well enough as well as eating too fast.  I really need to slow it down, it take alot of thought when you have to change your eating habits!!

The first week after surgery I lost 6 pounds - the second week I lost 13 pounds... so far I haven't lost anything since Thursday @ my two-week appointment.  I would normally be freaking out and thinking that I'm not going to lose anymore but apparently this is normal for a lot of people.  Still frustrating though!

I had the gastric bypass so I probably had a little differnet experence than you did.  But I have had several friend who have had the banding one of them being my surgeons P.A.  At support group meetings she let us feel her port and even 5 years post op you could feel a little bulge.  As far as the chruning stomach I too have felt that I think that a lot of that is gas pain.  Remember with all of us the have to fill us full of air in order to get in their and manurver around everything.  I think what you are experencing is normal but with most office you can givie them a call just to make sure.

Hi All-

i am new to this so bare with me please.  i just had my lapband surgery on the 5th and i guess everything is going according to plan.  my doctor has me on one protein shake called optisource a day which comes to about 2 oz of it 4 times a day. and liquids all through out the day.  things like water, crystal light, tea whatever has like no calories in it.   i was just curious about how you all felt after your surgery. i am not in a lot of pain but sometimes it feels like my stomach is being twisted like really bad hunger pains. and my port sight bulges out some. does that go away? any information i can get from you would be helpful becuase i am just not sure that i am feeling the right things or if there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  I dont want to be uncomfortable forever...

Thanks,
Lindsay

I find myself doing the same thing, I keep telling myself, chew-chew-chew...slow-slow-slow, my nut said to take 20 mins, and if I am not done in that time frame, then don't eat anymore.
I have only got food stuck twice, and for the most part have done very well.

I have 2 little ones of my own but it's easier for me as I work from home doing daycare. So I'm constantly running around after little kids but at least I can pretty much eat when I need to. I need to clock watch while I'm eating though so that I eat slow enough.
