I've never heard of it. I wonder if it's just in the US? I'll have to ask my gyno about it at my upcoming appointment.

Well, the weight loss may be different, but we are all doing a great thing by changing our lives! Whether you lose 10lbs a week or 1lb a week you should be proud of who you are and what you are doing to save your own life! Welcome to the loser's bench!

Thanks alot! I would go crazy if I had to be on clear liquids for that long! I hated only doing it for the first week! Good Luck!

Ooh, I forgot about that. I looked into that a couple years ago. I'll have to check it out again.
Thanks for the info!

I haven't tried the salmon yet. I have just stuck with the tuna so far. Not sure if I want to try it now.

MEAT! I want MEAT!!
I admit that I'm a red-meat fiend. But, it's the ONE thing that I always crave (listen to your body) during "that week." I have such a heavy cycle that I become anemic, and red-meat is the one thing that has been able to keep me balanced. Well, guess what .... Yup!
And I can't eat red meat for another 2 months (according to my doc/nutritionist).
I'm really trying to be good. They know best. They set the rules for a reason. I didn't have the surgery just to go back and eat all the CRAP that I used to. I did this to have a tool to help me get my health back.
But, man, oh, man ... is it tough.

I'm "stalled" too.
I want to thank the very generous person who, while I was at my 2 week check-up, liked me enough to share their cold with me.
I've been coughing and coughing ... it's getting better, but it sucks. For the first few days it was very hard to get in my protein, so I took in what I could ... I'm making it a point now to get my protein, and try to get all of my liquids.
I had progressed to eggs and cottage cheese, but I just can't do those w/ this cold. I'm almost always 'full' from the phlem, so I've gone to the tubes/bullets. Those I can get down, and still keep a high water/liquid number.
I'm sure it doesn't help that this is THAT week ... so there's probably bloating and water retention.
I've been at -25 for nearly a week now, and frustrated. I so much wanted to lose 40 by end of month 1. My next appointment is on Tuesday (6 days), and it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
I do have more energy, tho. And my thighs and butt where they meet are getting smaller (good-bye thunder-thighs!) -- the ONE spot in my jeans that I've noticed is baggier.

I went in for my 2 week check up. I didn't have any staples or stitches everything was just glued. I will never have the loses you guys have. But, I did lose 10 pounds in two weeks Plus the 4 I gained pre-op on the liquid diet and the 11 IV gain in the hospital.

I always have to pipe up on contraception threads and make sure people know about Essure http://www.essure.com/
If you're through having children, it's permanent and non-surgical. My DH kept postponing his little snip snip appointment and, despite being MO, I was very fertile so I decided to just go for tubal ligation but came across Essure. I had the procedure in January 2007 and have been thrilled with it.
The website is very informative.
