THank you, although I am still on my stall, i have avoided the scale and have begun working out.

As far as my weight loss, i agree any is good. I did not lose the full 71 from surgery, 30 is from my pre-op diet. YAY

Oh my!  You guys are just starting out!

Wow, to have lost 70 pounds in less than 2 months!

My weight loss was slow the whole time through... but you will definitely keep losing during the first year.  I lost slowly for the first two years, but have a thyroid problem... so was happy with any loss.

Anyways, don't fret... you'll hit lots of little "stalls"... but they should be nothing to worry about during your first year!

That's great, Steph.  I've never done consignment.  I'll have to think about that.

That is a WOW moment.  Good job!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

I am losing though (except for that stall that nearly all the early Feb folks seem to have gone through together).

I'll ask my nut when I'm in next and post the answer - for now I'm going to go with the theory that if I'm losing weight and feeling good, everything's fine.

I had a Wow moment yesterday - my Wii Sports (love it!) has a fitness test that scores your relative fitness based on speed, balance and stamina in terms of age.  Yesterday it said that I had the fitness level of a 26 year old (I'm 49) which is down 15 years from my last pre-surgery test.  Wheeee!

My surgeon's PA cleared me to resume weight training several weeks ago.  I've been trying to be cautious - slowing building up to my pre-surgery routine (especially for weights that move the core muscles) - and I've got to say that I feel Great after every workout   :)

I'll definately share your concern about hernias though - that doesn't sound fun at all.

Topic: Just bundled up a bunch of clothes for consignment

I've spent the last week bringing summer clothes up from the basement, trying them on, sorting them by "consign", "donate", "toss", "give to friend" and "take to tailor" then ironing and mending as necessary.  Yesterday I took a big bundle to the consignment store and today I got through the last of the clothes and have an even larger pile ready to consign.

I’m writing to share how emotionally satisfying this process was!  I’ve always like periodic purging of possessions; but this was especially satisfying for several reasons:

1)       I got rid of everything that didn’t fit perfectly (a few favorites will be tailored). I’d never even worn some of these garments. I bought them because they were “close enough" for a very large woman who did not have a lot of clothing options.

2)       My willingness to get rid of this carefully accumulated hoard of plus size clothing was a great affirmation that I am indeed making profound changes in my life.

3)       I’m building up a big balance at the my favorite consignment store which will help finance my evolving wardrobe needs :)
