Way to Go.. I know the feeling, I am down to 292 as of this morning..even though I have been at the slow stall, of losing MAYBE a pound every 3-4 days....but I know it's because I'm not eating enough or getting in my protein..I'm still working on it- but it was the greatest feeling, after I went below 300- knowing, I will NEVER let myself get to that again!

I am down almost 30 lbs, since surgery!

Keep up the great work!

Well, one of my milestones has finally come to pass--I was 299.1 this morning. Oh goodness it is exciting to think I will never have a 3 in front of my weight again. I've only been losing about 2-3 pounds a week for the past couple weeks, but am averaging about 4 pounds a week since surgery, so I can't complain. Granted, my friend that averaged 6 pounds a week makes me crazy to think about, but I'll take anything that is DOWN!

Thanks for letting me share the good news. I'm down 36 pounds from my high just before surgery, so I'm really pleased.

Have a great day!

Denise

Peppie La Pouch was not allowed anything but puree foods for the first three weeks. Then I was allowed to introduce one new food at a time, like you do with babies when they start on solids. Remember Edna's inflamation will not be completely down until around month 2.  On the plus side...eggs are great protein! Scrambled, poached, fried, steamed, cooked in a little soufle dish with cheese and cream. Omelettes with spinach and cheese...
Okay, so I'm on an egg kick this week  sorry.

A warning about beans, depending on the type, the husky skin can get lodged in inflamed areas, and cause vomitting.

Keep your chin up....and eggs down.  It will get better very soon.

I've had those days as well. Some days I don't want to eat...then other's I cannot wait for meal time so I can devour my 3 oz. of protein. I think the up and down has to do with a combination of healing, ketosis, how much fluid we are taking in, and what type of protein we are getting.
I actually was out of work the past several days with similar complaints as Steph (yes, a nice change from constipation), so that doesn't help either.
Small hurdles, we are all still learning our new bodies....
Feel better....this will pass.

Topic: RE: had surgery on March 5th and I'm curious

Hi Lindsay,

I had my Lap Band on 02/13/09, so I am just over 5 weeks post surgery.  About 10 days ago I noticed that the port doesn't bother me anymore.  Prior, anytime I bent over or moved in certain ways I could feel the port kinda 'pulling.'  I have no discomfort whatsoever.  I even went in for my first fill 4 days ago, and I don't feel a thing!  I do not think you are going to be 'uncomfortable forever.'  Hope this helps!
